I know exactly why I want to see this. Mary Poppins has always been one of my most favourite films (we're talking top three, here), and as a result, I'm very familiar with the story of Walt Disney pursuing Pamela Travers for the rights for what was, to both him and a her, an important and personal story. I love Emma Thompson. I love those songs. I love the shot of the Sherman brothers quickly hiding the sheet music to Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious. This film looks very funny and utterly charming. And I love the title, because yes, that's what Mary Poppins is all about!

I was predisposed to love this film, and loved it, I did. Of course it was saccharine, but Emma Thompson tempers it with a wonderful performance. When she [is finally won over and suddenly starts to dance and sing along with the others to "Let's Go Fly A Kite" with the others, there were tears.] If you get the chance, check this film out, you'll laugh, you'll be moved, and afterwards, you'll feel great.
