How do the drop pods work? are they recoverable?

The pods are based on the Kuat Drive Yards F7 Landing Brick. They sport a rudimentary sublight engine, and have been stripped of the weapon alotment, as well as the unnecessary crew accomodations, as these craft are automated. Thus, you have a drop pod with an interior area of 400 square meters. A PBD will be able to carry twelve of these specialized devices.
