R2-D2 figure

I don't know if someone has already posted about this, but on the Episode 1 R2-D2 figure, could the little things that pop out of the sides be the booster rockets from the cut scene?

that is what they are,
the toy was modeled after that scene, but then it was cut and they didnt have time to make another R2 so they released that version

I think there's a good chance we'll see this scene in the DVD next year. If it doesn't make an appearance there then I'm sure we'll see it on some SE DVD somewhere down the road.

but if thats the reason then i got to ask why'd they keep jarjar?? :
