    Érinthe Hetetlen
    Guest
    Name: Érinthe Hetetlen, Captain (pron.)
    Position: Commanding Officer, NCC-1702

In 2227, Érinthe was born in Broken Bow, Oklahoma to two Starfleet officers. His father was both absent and largely disinterested in his son; his mother meanwhile was a career-focused medical officer, and to some extent resented the restrictions a child placed on the assignments she could select. In 2232 Érin was sent to live with his paternal grandparents in Nottingham, England so his mother could accept a posting aboard the USS Kelvin; she died a year later when the ship was destroyed near Klingon space.

Despite repeated encouragements to do absolutely anything but join Starfleet, Érin graduated from Starfleet Academy in 2247. He spent his first tour working with the United Earth Space Probe Agency, before joining the crew of the USS Artemis as a navigations officer. His experience with UESPA gave him what his Vulcan commanding officer described as: "a creative use of stellar phenomenon to calculate highly efficient navigational trajectories," described more simply by Érin as "slingshotting around stuff".

During his third tour aboard the USS Isis, Érin took on additional responsibilities as First Officer. He was later offered command of the USS Sagittarius, but declined in favour of what he considered a more prestigious post as First Officer aboard the as-yet unlaunched NCC-1702, under Captain Hindi Mahipo. Because of Captain Mahipo's commitments to her existing command of the USS Farragut, Érin was largely responsible for overseeing the final stages of the 1702's construction and shakedown.

In 2258, Captain Mahipo was killed in action when her ship was destroyed along with nine other vessels during the Battle of Vulcan. Starfleet decided that in order to expediate the swift launch of the NCC-1702 in the wake of those devastating losses, Commander Hetetlen - already familiar with the ship and crew - would assume command.

    Dale Goetz
    Guest
    Name: Dale 'Bear' Goetz
    Position: Chief Engineer, NCC-1702

Born 2218 in Duesseldorf, Germany. Parents subsequently killed on a colony at Antares IV during an unidentified alien attack. Adopted by aunt Teresa and uncle Da'Quan out of Huntsville, Alabama. Aunt and Uncle both heavily involved in Starfleet, and an impressionable Dale was quick to follow in their footsteps.

Shuffled off to the academy early at 17, Dale Goetz quickly displayed aptitude towards warp field theory and a discipline in engineering. Unfortunately he was passed over in his graduating class and was not assigned a posting to a starship. Disgruntled, he accepted a five year posting to a merchant marine's ship, the SS Housatonic. The tour of duty performed without incident, but the ship gained distinction for breaking records on her cruising speeds. With real experience under his belt, Dale again applied for commission within Starfleet, and was assigned to the drydocks at Huntsville, his home town.

With a penchant for unconventional engineering solutions, he made few friends within starfleet, and his career was buoyed by results alone. After supervising two smaller starships from the Huntsville spaceyards, Goetz pushed hard for a personal stake in the first Constitution-class starship to lay keel at the facility. It took a lot of personal favors, but Goetz was not only posted to head the construction of the USS Valiant, but the posting of Chief Engineer was offered to him upon completion of construction. Taking a personal stake in NCC-1702, Goetz worked tirelessly on "his ship" to ensure she was ready to launch on schedule.

Coming from a family of scientists and engineers, and having a penchant for spaceflight as a hobby, Goetz was often eager to pass over career prestige if it meant being offered a sufficient challenge as an engineer. He has a simmering disdain for the military process and, while not insubordinent, holds a strong sense of independence in how his engine room is run, and is reluctant to cowtow to regulations on how Starfleet says to run a ship.

"How do you tell an Orion merchant ship from an Orion pirate ship? If you've got phasers, it's a merchant ship." -- Old Starfleet joke
    Name: Jorann Lokar, Lieutenant, J.G.
    Position: Navigator/Weapons officer, NCC-1702

The youngest son of Orion shipping magnate Orrd Lokar, CEO of the Lokar Trade Consortium, Jorann Lokar was always the black sheep of his family. Unlike his older brothers, he had no interest in business management and detested corporate politics. As a teenager he served aboard an Orion merchantman for his father's company, where he displayed a talent for starship operations. However, in 2252, his ship ran afoul of the Rigellian Trade Authority while carrying illegal goods. His captain ordered him to go to warp, but, knowing they would not outrun the Rigellian cutters, the 19-year-old Jorann disobeyed orders and attempted to conceal the ship into the upper atmosphere of a nearby gas giant. They were apprehended anyway, and Jorann returned to his father in disgrace.

Three years later, with the Federation projecting more and more influence into the Rigel system, Orrd elected to build inroads with the Federation and rid himself of an embarrassment in one go by sending his son to Starfleet Academy. Jorann chafed at the more rigid hierarchy and austere lifestyle he found in Starfleet, but he quickly became enamored with the Federation's much higher level of starship technology. His instructors described him as arrogant and combative, but were impressed with how quickly he adapted to new technology. His prior spacefaring experience put him ahead of many of his peers in practical examinations. He performed better in the simulator than in the classroom, though often his solutions did not entirely adhere to Starfleet regulations.

In 2258, he was assigned as a junior navigator aboard the USS Mayflower. However, before he could take his post, he was suspended from active duty following an altercation with a superior officer. While Jorann languished on earth, the Mayflower warped into battle with eight other starships, where it was quickly destroyed by the war criminal Nero. In the aftermath of Nero's attacks, Jorann's skills were deemed valuable enough to merit reassignment to the NCC 1702.

Though a capable navigator, Jorann is far from a model Starfleet officer. He is cocky, hedonistic, and impetuous, and his attitude borders on insubordinate. He has also been less than forthcoming concerning his activities aboard the Orion merchantman, and it is suspected by some of his fellow officers that his father installed him in Starfleet not as an olive branch but as a mole.

    Thaitla K'prerr
    Guest
    Name: Thaitla K'prerr, Lieutenant
    Position: Communications Officer, NCC-1702

The only cub of Caitian parents Tua and Isur, Thaitla was given plenty of chances to excel, and she quickly graduated Suma Cum Laude of Nu'im Academy on her native Ferasa with dual majors in Xenolinguistics and Anthropology. in 2254, Thaitla moved to Earth, enrolling in Stanford University for her doctorate. A friend in Starfleet, Nyota Uhura, convinced her to put her doctorate on hold in favor of a career in starfleet, suggesting that's where the real job experience was. She followed her friend, moving from Palo Alto to San Francisco, and began her Starfleet career in earnest.

Curious to the point of needling annoyance, Thaitla has a strong explorer's instinct and her concentrations make her a vital expert in seeking out new civilizations. Her knowledge tends to be more academic and less practical at times, and while she's a starving extrovert, she can sometimes come off as naive or missing the point.

    Talia Hudson
    Guest
    Name: Talia "Jet" Hudson, Commodore
    Position: Starfleet Operations

A veteran officer with a distinguished career in Starfleet, Talia's early career was spent serving aboard starships, before transitioning into increasingly senior roles aboard various spaceborne facilities. She reached the rank of Captain while serving as the Executive Officer of Starbase 1: Earth's orbiting spacedock and arguably one of the most prestigious postings in Starfleet. Though originally trained as an engineering officer, Talia migrated into logistics, communications, and eventually command assignments over the course of her career.

Now a Commodore at Starfleet Operations, Talia is an integral part of Starfleet's new exploration initiatives, working with starship and starbase commanders to deploy explorers, science vessels, and survey ships appropriately across the Federation frontier. Included within that mandate is a liaising role with the construction and deployment of Starfleet's new Constitution-class vessels.

Talia's last starship posting - which ended in 2248 - was aboard the USS Artemis, where she served alongside Érinthe Hetetlen: the current Captain of one of the starships that falls under her purview.

I got enough frat boys at Stanford, let's leave them behind at Starfleet Academy. Or do you want me to go into detail about what farm animal your mother crossed paths with to have you, and do it in Klingon?

Hey, why not. Girls speaking Klingon are hot. As long as they're not, you know, actually Klingon.

    Ari McKenna
    Guest
    Name: Ari McKenna, Lieutenant Commander
    Position: Helmsman, NCC-1702

Born in Dublin, Ireland, Ari is the youngest of three children. Her mother is a pilot, and her father is a Master Brewer for Guinness, which led to what she often calls a 'very unique' childhood. While her older siblings followed in their father's footsteps, Ari followed in their mother's. Only, where her mother had taken a civilian career track, she took it a step further and was accepted at Starfleet Academy at the age of 17.

Upon her graduation, she was assigned to the USS Isis, where she served as a Helmsman alongside Érinthe Hetetlen, a Navigator at the time. Ari earned a reputation for being able to 'thread a needle with a starship', using a combination of trained ability and genuine Irish luck.

A few years later, she was chosen by Captain Pike to be Helmsman of the USS Enterprise, an honor that promised to catapult her promising career even higher. Ari's luck ran out, however, when she came down with a case of lungworm and was ultimately unable to take the post. After recovering and being cleared for active duty once more, a little help from Captain Pike and then-First Officer Érinthe Hetetlen saw her posted to the USS Valiant along with a promotion to Lieutenant Commander.

So let me get this straight:

We have a stout-swilling Irish helmsman
We have a lager-pounding German engineer
We have a Captain who, I dunno, gonna assume Hungarians are on the vodka
Our first officer is half Andorian, half Klingon, pretty sure they drink real hard so add them together and she's off her ass on blood wine or hard prune juice or something.
That Orion is probably a lush.

This is the drunkest crew in starfleet

    Taris zh'Khali
    Guest
    Name: Taris zh'Khali
    Position: First Officer, NCC 1702

Born in 2222, Taris is the product of her mother being raped by a Klingon guard while at Rure Pente. It wasn't long after that incident that her mother escaped, making the journey back to Andoria before giving birth. Her childhood was an odd affair, though she was given much love at home despite the stares and whisperings while out in public. Through all of this Taris was diligent in her studies and academics, aspiring to prove to all that her Klingon blood was not a hindrance. This drive was so great that eventually she enrolled in Starfleet Academy.

She graduated in the same class as Érinthe Hetetlen, and spent her first tour aboard the USS Wayfall. Before long however Taris opted to accept a posting to the USS Artemis when a position opened up. She made the move in the hopes to further dispel the stigma that seemed to follow her wherever she went.

But, as all things come to an end, the Andorian/Klingon found her own personal resolves eroding under the subtle racial tension attached to her Klingon half, and left Starfleet. Rather than return to Andoria, Taris instead made her way to Janus VI where she took a job in the pergium mines. It wasn't glorious work, but it was work that was away from the public.

    William Renard
    Guest
    Name: William Renard, Ensign
    Position: Jr. Science Officer, NCC-1702

A young and enthusiastic scientific prodigy, Billy has a flair for science and mathematics, but his mind is something of a black hole when it comes to remembering specific words or describing himself clearly. Under normal circumstances he would have been considered something of a boy genius; unfortunately for him, he found himself a classmate of an even younger scientific prodigy, Pavel Chekov.

During an Introduction To Linguistics course during his first semester at the Academy, Billy discovered the meaning of his surname, and has since been attempting to cultivate "The Fox" as a nickname, with very little success.

    Reggie Swarston
    Guest
    Name: Reginald "Reggie" Swarston, Ensign
    Position: Cook, NCC-1702

From a working-class council flat at Tranquility Lake, Luna, Reggie went through a series of life passions, never really settling on anything until he decided to become a veterinarian because "Yeah, I like dogs alright." To pay for veterinarian school, he enlisted in Starfleet, where he was merely adequate in every metric across the board. Having a fairly average set of skills and a middling case of milquetoast ambition, he was assigned the dubious distinction of becoming a line cook, while his training in engineering disciplines could be used in an emergency situation. Despite the fairly low set of expectations given to him as a line cook, he manages to fulfill them in a consistently adequate fashion.

    Bianca Littizetto
    Guest
Name: Dr. Bianca Littizzetto, Lt. Commander
    Position: Chief Medical Officer, NCC-1702
Bianca is half Haliian, which means she's an empath in theory. She's also half Italian, which means she's just as liable to get upset at you for having a "stupid emotion" and when she isn't talking with her hands, is probably going poke you in the forehead if you're exhibiting signs of "stupidity", "bad ideas" "complete irrationality". Bianca's brazen interpersonal skills have marred an otherwise ideal career in Starfleet as a medical officer, and is a large part of why she was posted to the 1702, and why she is Lt. Commander instead of Commander. Bianca is poor at formality and only follows the chain of command when it makes sense to her.

Despite her tumultuous personality, she will always will hold herself to her medical oath. It just might hurt more than usual if she's mad at you.

    Schiava Trollinger
    Guest
    Name: Schiava Trollinger, Admiral
    Position: Head of Starfleet Intelligence

Originally a civilian attorney specialising in cases where interstellar law clashed with the local laws of planets both within the Federation and without, Schiava Trollinger was brought in as a consultant on the investigation into the USS Kelvin's destruction, allegedly by the Romulan Star Empire. His skills impressed members of the Admiralty also linked with the investigation, and he was encouraged to abandon his civilian practice pursue a career in Starfleet. At first he served as a legal officer working with Starfleet Security, but his familiar with alien customs and legal practices quickly saw him move first into diplomacy, and then later into Starfleet Intelligence. He demonstrated a surprising affinity for strategy and tactics alongside his intellectual skills, which led to a long and distinguished career with the agency, eventually rising to it's most senior position.

Schiava is noted for his calm and measured approach to leadership, and also for his uncanny ability to disarm those he is talking to and effortlessly extract information. This had led to a slight air of distrust towards him among Starfleet's senior staff; but that is hardly an unusual state of affairs for the Starfleet spymaster.
