The Long Countdown... to Episode VII (December 18, 2015!)
So, this new film will be arriving in 2015. We can tentatively guess that it will be released in May and most likely sometime around the 15th of the month, based on past releases. So who's up for a countdown to rival the original Long Countdown?

Our latest rumour is that "Michael Arndt has already written a 40-50 page script treatment for the film and is 'likely to be at least one of the writers' for the movie, which is expected to start shooting in 2014."
Oh, and did I mention the script will feature Luke, Leia and Han?

As pre-production of Star Wars: Episode VII begins, Lucasfilm has confirmed that award-winning writer Michael Arndt will write the screenplay for the new Star Wars film. As revealed in the ongoing video series posted here on StarWars.com, Kathleen Kennedy and George Lucas have begun story conferences with Arndt. Arndt won an Academy AwardŽ for Best Original Screenplay for writing Little Miss Sunshine (2006), and was nominated for Best Adapted Screenplay for writing Toy Story 3 (2010).
