Hey, you'll be watching along with the rest of us very soon!
Seriously guys - I'm pretty sure Brian is a dalek, or a cyberman or something. There is no way that anything fully organic could watch their way through Doctor Who as damned fast as he is.
Bearing in mind that he was watching Eccleston episodes in Bama, he's now at The Stolen Earth. That's three seasons in as many weeks.
It's like that, and that's the way it is.
He's just dedicated to the cause. I like that.
What I am, is clever. /Tennant
You forgot the first season of Torchwood, Jace. So that's 4 seasons in 3 weeks. Plus, I also watched the "Children in Need" 2005 and the 2007 "Time Crash" mini-episodes.Bearing in mind that he was watching Eccleston episodes in Bama, he's now at The Stolen Earth. That's three seasons in as many weeks.
And now it's off to Torchwood season 2!
I take it from Facebook that you warmed to Donna, then?
Yes, very much. This is vague enough that I probably don't need to shroud this bit, but...
I mentioned to Jace that her first appearance was very shrill and shouty to me. The way they ran the narrative when she became a companion, however, you could see Donna was always being shut down in her personal life and the bossiness was a coping mechanism. Even though she never quite lost it entirely, as she did things alongside the Doctor her better traits, especially compassion, began to shine through. I was destroyed when they took that away from her - I keep imagining that it's like a genius getting a lobotomy to remove a brain tumor. When it's done, they're alive and that's good, but their IQ is shredded and they can only catch tiny flashes of what and who their best self was. In the end, all you can do is hope the rest of their life is a happy one.
You know, that description makes me feel like Sam may have been a companion.
Anyways, I'm through the Tennant era and up to the Matt Smith era. I definitely enjoyed the ride so far and I'm told it gets better, so we'll see.
We are now finished with series five
Good going. Say "Hello" to the Silence for me. If you can remember to...
Jenny already suggested that I may be a silence-murdering badass, because I can say with absolute certainty that every time I saw something like that I would put a bullet in it
News: Just finished "A Good Man Goes to War" and "Let's Kill Hitler"
Views: Head exploded
I know, right?
I didn't enjoy the episode that you've got up next, but the one after that? I was so upset after it that I had to go for a walk and clear my head.
Also, if you liked Craig Owens (the guy who you thought was me ), you'll be glad to hear that he's back again for you in a few episodes' time.
Craig Owens IS you. Same hair color, same voice, the same!
So I have the same voice as Craig Owens and Wheatley now?
More Craig Owens than Wheatley. Wheatley is more of a comedy option.
It's settled then, Jace. You now know what you need to name your firstborn child.
Yes. Wheatley Owens.
I've now watched a good portion of the series again. Eccelston is better than I remember, but Tennant takes the cake. The innocent episodes with Rose and 9 or Rose and 10 still delight me. Donna, though. Oh, Donna is a treasure. And you know, I think I like her ending after all. It seems cheap at first glance, giving her a winning lottery ticket. But now that she has money, Donna can finally travel the world, just like she wanted. And maybe she's not as good as when she met the Doctor, but she has a husband who can help her be better. I wouldn't mind seeing her again someday just to see where the future put her, but for now I like the ending in my head better.
At some point, I hope to get my hands on some Series 7 episodes and see where Matt Smith goes next.
Super big twist, he was actually the Doctor from the future the whole time!
oh what a tangled web I weave
I don't think even Steven Moffat would be that cheesy.
...I hope.
