I don't know you anymore!
I've no vested interest in the NHL playoffs anymore; considering how much I dislike the remaining times, if I had to pick one, I'd have to pick the one I dislike the least and that would be the Habs, cause they're sorta like my Yankees except for how many losing seasons they've had.
Hardcore Bruins fans may never get over this one.
Shocking, really. They blew a 3-0 series lead and blew a 3-0 game lead in game 7!?
Like the coach said - there's no excuse for that.
Effing FINALLY. Thank you, Chicago!
I guess I don't consider making the conference final a choke -- even if the Sharks got swept.
Flyers to win!
Yup. That seems to be the general opinion in my house as well. Though it gets me to point out to my roommate that he's cheering for a team that Pronger is on which... is infinitely amusing to me.
Certainly not the final matchup I would have predicted... could be very interesting

Good game overall...but seriously... the ending was just kinda... "Huh? Oh." Was odd when only Kane knew the goal was scored there for a bit. My roomie (who is a goalie) basically said The Flyer's goalie probably hated himself at that moment since the goal was pretty soft. Nice angle on Kane's part but the goalie should have had it.
Either way... Chicago gets its moment. Which I figured they had completely jinxed themselves when they painted a seriously ugly giant mural of Toews with the cup on the side of a building... before the playoffs even started.
I guess whitewashing the damn thing did the trick, though.
So... how many other cities will do ugly paintings of their team's captain with the cup and then cover them up before the playoffs start next year?

Well, I don't feel so bad that we lost to Chicago now, knowing that they were cup-winning quality.
So... when do we get more hockey?
As a Pens fan, I was naturally rooting against our hated division rivals. And, honestly, I was glad to see Marion Hossa finally win one! Yeah, I was hacked off that he left Pittsburgh for Detroit, but he got the best comeuppance a Pens fan could hope for, so I have no ill will toward him anymore, and if he'd lost his third Stanley Cup finals series in a row, people would start to say he's jinxed.
Both teams put on a great series, and that was a fantastic Game 7. Flyers fans should feel proud of their team. As for the final goal, it was a little bizarre in the delayed reaction, but I don't think it's any harder to swallow than any other overtime championship loss. I think the tension in hockey's brand of sudden death is higher than any other team sport. You can watch your goalie turn away fifty shots, your heart in your throat each time, and the one that goes in doesn't necessarily look any different until you see the puck in the back of the net. Football and basketball are games of seconds and inches; hockey is a game of nanoseconds and milimeters.
I can only imagine how heart-rending it must be to be cheering your team on in your home arena one moment and then suddenly seeing the other guys celebrating the next. The chant of "Let's go Flyers!" moments after the winning goal was a brilliant display of loyalty and gratitude, and it gave me a new level of respect for Flyers fans and for hockey fans worldwide.

Most Thrilling Playoffs In Recent Memory Unfortunately Happen In Hockey
PHILADELPHIA—The most riveting, nail-biting, and story-laden playoff series in the past several years of professional sports had the misfortune of reaching its amazing overtime finish in the sport of hockey Wednesday night, as the Blackhawks defeated the Flyers to win the NHL's championship series 4-2. "To see a team that was 14th out of 15 teams in its conference a few months ago not only make the playoffs, but advance to the final by coming back from three games down, was really a shame," said ESPN's Bill Simmons, who spent the evening preparing for Thursday's Lakers-Celtics game and did not watch the hockey finals. "And when the barnstorming Chicago team hoisted that trophy, ending its championship drought with an overtime win on the road, I felt sick to my stomach that it wasn't the Cubs and the World Series trophy." The NHL playoffs also saw Montreal goalie Jaroslav Halak stop 131 of 134 scoring attempts over three games in a superhuman defensive effort that was tragically not put forth by the Baltimore Ravens.
