    Name: Jesse Croft

    Codename: Echo

    Sex: Female

    Nationality: American

    Birthday: October 13th, 1990

    Age: 17

    Height: 5’6

    Weight: 125 lbs

    Eye Color: Emerald Green

    Skin Tone: Pale

    Hair Color: Red or Blonde

    X-Gene: Active

Mutant Abilities: Creates illusionary clones of herself and has inhuman speed. When using her inhuman speed, her form seems to trail behind her, giving the illusion of some sort of echo of herself trailing after her.

    Affiliates: None

Past Biography: Jesse Croft is a foster child. No one is quite sure what happened to her parents. She was a child of the system for years, being tossed from foster parents to foster parents. At 13 years old, she was settled into a house in Florida with Karen Stone and Kelly McDowell, Karen’s other foster daughter. Karen was never sure why Jesse had been tossed back and forth between other foster parents. She had always found Jesse to be a well-behaved child.

The truth was that whenever things would begin to go sour in one of the other houses, Jesse would run. And not just run, but also get away. She had never stayed more then a year at any of the other foster care homes. But the last couple before Karen had actually sent her away because of “odd occurrences.” In truth, it was the development of her mutant powers.

Karen was exactly what Jesse had needed to calm down and settle in one place for a while. And for years, that is exactly what she did. She played the position of Big Sister to Kelly very well. Always tried her best to be a good roll model to the younger girl. Karen did her best to keep the three of them together, working two jobs to get the bills payed. But come closer to Jesse’s 18th year, it was getting tougher.

That is when Jesse knew that it was time to disappear again. She knew, this time, it would be for good from the system. She would miss her beloved foster family, but she knew they would be better off without her. So she left.

Present Biography: Jesse is wandering about in New York City, unsure of where to go from here.

    Uncanny

    Name: Zack Solomon
    Alias: Uncanny
    Allegiance: Dr. Cullen's Institute (student)
    Age: 20
    Nationality: American
    Power: Shapeshifter

    Background
Uncanny led a pretty normal life for the first 17 or so years of it. He was a popular kid in school with plenty of friends, the class clown, loved skateboarding, a hit with the girls. He had a good thing going on. But that changed around his 18th birthday. One night Zack was watching a movie with a girl from school in her parents house while they were away. As the night went on their emotions grew higher and higher until they could barely control their passion. Then in the heat of the moment when everything was going great, the girls cat brushed past Zacks leg, causing him to suddenly morph into a cat himself.

When the girl opened her eyes, she sat up confused, and brushed the cat off her lap. Puzzled by her more-or-less boyfriends' disappearance, she stared in bewilderment at the sight of two cats. Her own pet obviously didn't like the unknown stray as it hissed and clawed in its direction. The mystery feline retreated to the girls feet, cowering behind them. But her own cat arched it's back threateningly...

The next thing she knew, she banged her head on the ceiling and fell off Zacks shoulders onto the couch once more.

That was Zacks first transformation. But it certainly wasn't his last. It took him a while before he could control the transformations, but not before his spontaneous shapeshifting had caused his friends and relatives to shun him for the mutant he so obviously was. He ultimately decided to run away after his parents had tried to persuade him to see a doctor over his 'condition'. Deep down he knew they would have disowned him - he just knew it. In less than a year his life had gone from being damn well brilliant to lousy as hell, and there didn't seem to be anything he could do about it.

Life on his own wasn't so bad. He soon discovered that he could transform into any animal he had physical contact with. It was then a case of grabbing a mouse in a pet shop and gaining entry into several houses until he'd aquired a nice amount of funds to rent a small apartment in the centre of town. But his conscience soon got the better of him and he knew he couldn't go on like this for too long. So once he heard about Dr. Cullens he jumped at the opportunity.

    Additional
Although he seems to have learned how to use his power, he still doesn't fully understand it. For instance, god knows what happens to his clothes when he changes - yet when he reverts back to his own form - there they are!

    Name: Dallas Walker
    Alias: None currently
    Allegiance: Himself and the Need
    Age: 26
    Nationality: Unknown
Power: An energy vampire who saps the life from living beings by looking directly into their eyes. Victims become shriveled, dried up husks of flesh with direct eye contact; anything less has less severe effects. He does not need this energy to live off of, he kills because he enjoys it. His skin has turned a dark, sickly shade of grey, and his eyes have a reddish glow to them - these are the only physical signs of his mutation and have no effect on him (Re: he can go out into the sun, eat garlic, etc).

    Background
Not much is known about the boy named Dallas Walker. What is known, to a select few, is that he suffered a severe traumatic event at age 4. This caused his powers to manifest at a rapid rate. It also caused him to become labelled as "damaged"; he was left to flounder in the mental health system for most of his childhood years. Because he gained his powers so young, he has grown up thinking of himself as imhuman, and does not think, feel or act like a normal human (or mutant) would. Currently he is being held in the Jericho Center for Genetic Medicine, awaiting transfer to a more secure facility.

A private military contractor similar to Triple Canopy, Executive Outcomes, and Blackwater LLC, Praetorian operates with wide authority throughout the theatres of armed combat that the Western World is invested in. Initially saddled with special tasks in the War on Terror, Praetorian Consulting was contracted by a division of the Department of Homeland Security known as Vanguard. Their mission extends beyond all borders, including within friendly western nations. They are given sizeable allocations of resources to the aim of controlling the worldwide emergence of the mutant threat.

Praetorian Consulting Corp. utilizes Vanguard's rich arsenal of technologies, specifically tailored to deal with the mutant situation, and is the market leader in providing security resources to answer this challenge.

Sorry, I don't want to cause problems, but that's very similar to Chimera's abilities (see previous page), only Chimera doesn't have so many limitations. At this point her abilities are primarily limited by inexperience and immaturity.

I don't think it's impossible to have two illusionists, but it might limit the kinds of stories we both can tell unless you can distinguish your character more clearly. Plus, I was hoping Chimera would remain somewhat unique seeing as she's highly gifted for such a young girl.

It's only natural that we should have some duplication of abilities.

Francoise can also produce illusions, to a limited degree, and her colleagure Natalia Fedorov is also able to mimic the physical appearance and voice of others, which I suppose could be classed as an illusion too.

Yes, you're very true. I apologize that I haven't really explained my character well.

Mirrora can only make the illusion of scenery; no people or animals. She also has to be a part of the illusion, whether she is infront, behind or beside. She cannot create an illusion and then leave; it's stationary and she must stay within feet of her illusion, it cannot move. Her illusions can't be very either big, they may only take up a section of whatever she produces.

I also could create a different power in general, if that would be easier.

PMed. Hopefully we can talk on AIM and work it out?

Just to be clear, I'm more concerned about the characters than the powers. I want to be sure they have their own identities to grow and discover and develop. Similarly-powered characters can have interesting relationships. Heck, if Akkrabim wanted to bring back Kirian Graves, his katana-wielding illusionist/assassin, it'd be sweet to see how he'd interact with Jamie!

    Age: 21
    Allegiance: Unknown/The Brotherhood
    Height: 5'6"
    Weight: 120 lbs.
    Nationality: American
Powers: Like her name, Mirrora has the ability to produce a mirror-like substance from her limbs which creates a reflection of the scene or setting infront of the substance. If applied to a surface; wood, concrete, metal, skin, etc., this substance will dry into a solid state.

The solid mixture, once again like a mirror, is very fagile and thus breaks if hit hard enough. However, if the substance is spread over a surface and something breaks the dried solution; the solution and the surface underneath it will shatter.

Weakness: Mirrora is not completely immune to her own powers. With the exception of where the substance in produced in her limbs, if she were to get the substance on her, it could dry and once it does the mirror-like creation will never be removed and also the risk that she could lose the function her own body parts or even completely lose a part of her body.

The substance itself drys instantly or at the most (if her concentration slips) about ten seconds; thus her powers not always immediately effective.

    Name: Issachar Aloise

    Alias: Mercure

    Age: 22

    Allegiance:

    Height: 5'10

    Weight: 140 lbs.

    Nationality: Quebecois. Not Canadian.

Powers: Is able to elevate body temperature to the extreme; the phrase, "makes the blood boil" is literal with Issachar, and during displays of his power it is unwise to make physical contact as his skin becomes super-heated. It also naturally has effects on the surrounding environment, although it has not thus been generated at a high enough level to go beyond a radius of a few feet.

Weakness: Issachar has limited control over his abilities, and has thus far not figured out a way in which to avoid personal harm when they erupt. He suffers from frequent heatstroke, had a heart attack when he was seventeen from the strain, and often blisters and burns his own skin during bouts of rage.

He never went to school and is illiterate, and has a slight grasp of the English language.

    Background:
Issachar Aloise was born in Montreal, the son of a prostitute and who-knows-who (although he suspects it was one of the local ecclésiastiques.) His mother, unable and unwilling to raise him, sent him to a Catholic work-home for despairing children where his strange abilities and frequent heat-induced sicknesses ostrasized him.

In an effort to make friends, the lad took up the popular, sinful sport of bare-knuckle brawling. He was excellent but sadly it did little to help his popularity rise, especially once his opponents began to walk away from matches with small, but painful, burns. Like any good French boy, Issachar was a heavy smoker from a young age, and it was widely assumed that he cheated during the matches (although it should be noted that no one ever saw a cigarette on his person while he was fighting.)

Issachar was fully aware of what he was, and he kept it as quiet as he could, barely acknowledging it himself except when his abilities posed serious health dangers.

At age fifteen, tired of the discipline and pious hypocrasy at the work-home, Issachar took his leave and left the city with his only boyhood companion--also a mutant-- eventually getting a job at the Blouin Luc sawmill in St-Jean-d'Orléans. He was fired after getting into one-too-many brawls with fellow employees (none of whom, he is quick to point out, were actually from Quebec. This is a very valid reason to knock someone's block off. Obviously.) More specifically, he was fired after a co-worker, a pleasant father of three from Newfoundland that was in for the winter season, ended up in the ICU burn-ward on the brink of death.

With no education to speak of, no responsibilities, and a warrant for his arrest, Issachar decided it was a choice time to travel. He thumbed his way across the border and has been on the move since.

    Age: 64
Allegiance: The United States of America
    Height: 5'5
    Weight: 140 lbs.
    Nationality: American
    Powers: N/A

Biography: Matilda Sweeney is a United States Senator, from the state of Arizona. She has been in government in one form or another since she graduated from Yale with a masters in political science at the age of 25. She is in her second term as Senator and is currently running for President of the United States.

    Party: Republican
Political Soapboxes: Matilda is vocally against open borders and vows to end the flood of illegal aliens into the US. Paticularly she promises to deliver legislation that will document and deport all illegal mutants that are caught inside the country, regardless of their home country's stance on mutant rights. "The mutant issue is tough enough without importing more problems from other countries."

She has voted for mutant rights several times during her terms as senator, though the growing terror concern has caused her to admit that the current administration's policies may need re-examining once she takes office.

Biography: A dark horse in the 2008 Presidential primaries, Daniel David Cohen joined the political scene only six years ago, rising quickly from a seat in the New York state legislature to the governor's office in Connecticut. He has pioneered a number of new government programs for studying and addressing the mutant phenomenon, including compensation for families whose mutant children volunteer for medical research. His administration has seen the founding of the Jericho Center for Genetic Medicine, an advanced facility where mutants receive the advanced care they need entirely at the state's expense. His progressive stance on the mutant phenomenon is widely credited to his experience as a senior corporate officer with the GenTech pharmaceutical company.

Political 'Soapboxes': Shaw is a strong advocate of equal rights amongst humans and mutants alike. He opposes the idea of a national register of mutants, and instead wishes to encourage the development of human-mutant relations.

    Alias: Legion
    Age: 25
    Allegiance: Non-aligned (for now)
    Height: 5'9"
    Weight: 160 pounds
    Nationality: Indian
Powers: Body Mitosis (creating identical copies of himself), and collective thought & awareness between his duplicates.
Weaknesses: Cannot recall duplicates, which will exist until killed. Too many duplicates and/or too many tasks for each to do causes confusion and problems without training to control them better.

Biography: Originally a polymer chemist for Dow Industries in Dehli, Vipul found his gifts in a sudden fashion. Late for his live-in girlfriend's birthday, and forced to work overtime at the lab, he felt a sudden panic at having to be so many places at once, and in a sudden violent reaction, spawned a second body which grew from his side. Bewildered and frightened, he realized that this doppelganger was somehow also himself.

He tried to take full advantage of his gift, but when a third doppelganger spawned, he found it difficult to live his life and avoid exposing his secret. Confiding to his girlfriend, he was devastated when she ran shrieking from him. He couldn't sweep this under the rug, and something had to be done.

    Allegiance: Cullen's Institute (student)
    Height: 5’1” (not including ears)
    Weight: 94 lbs.
    Nationality: American
    Birthplace: San Mateo, CA

Powers: Taya’s mutation has morphed her into a catlike form with a feline face and ears, enlarged hands and feet, retractable claws, a coat of tawny fur, and a long, flexible tail. With her feline appearance have come heightened senses, athleticism, and balance. If she possesses any other superhuman abilities, she hasn't discovered them yet.

Bio: The only child of an affluent couple in San Mateo, California, Taya's mutation began to manifest itself during her puberty in a drastic and terrifying fashion. Her body began a process of change down to her very bone structure, and upon examination, she was diagnosed with an active X-gene. Fearing she was suffering from a random physical mutation, her parents began seeking ways to halt or even reverse her transformation, and they spent the better part of a year hopping from hospital to hospital to investigate emerging treatments. But after one such treatment nearly killed her, they resolved to wait out the transformation in hopes that her body was following some sort of genetic roadmap.

    Alias: Meridian
    Age: 24
    Occupation: Scientist at Area 51
    Height: 5'7"
    Weight: 130 pounds
    Nationality: American
Powers: Originally, Meridian's abilities consisted of radiating and storing charged particles by using a constant electro-magnetic field; her entire body served as a Penning Trap. This unique mutation enabled her to generate ideal measurements of ions and subatomic particles; however, her research in Roswell has influenced and even warped the precedent. Antimatter allows her to charge inanimate objects with antiparticles and causes them to explode once they meet their target. Overall; Lethal accuracy, composition altering energy, and substance detonation.
Weaknesses: There are limitations on her abilities as she has the tendency to overheat easily. The bigger the object, the longer it takes to alter.

    Name: Unknown.
    Alias: Bandage.
    Race: Unknown.
    Sex: Male.
    Ethnic Background: Unknown.
    Mutant: ----
    Age: Unknown.
    Height: 5'9".
    Weight: 160lbs.
    Hair Color: Unknown.
    Eye Color: Unknown.
Mutant Traits/Powers: Exhibits strange extrasensory and psychic abilities; extremely powerful telekinetic abilities; unknown potential healing factor or self-sustaining ability.
    Current Residence: Not on file.

Perhaps the strangest individual currently under observation at The Jericho Center for Genetic Medicine, this creature is kept in the very sublevels of the facility, an entire floor devoted (a better term might be deserted) to keep the creature there.

Initially, a refrigerated container showed up as an extra part of a shipping manifest to Jericho, and upon opening the container, its contents were revealed: a body, male in sex, unknown in origin, severely burned, and barely alive, seeming to be in a comatose state. Upon seeing it, the doctor in charge thought the shipment to be a joke or a hoax, and thought of ordering to have it euphanized. But, before that order could even be given, the thing in the casing awakened, sitting up. Armed guards who were at the doors were suddenly telekinetically disarmed of all their weapons, along with all the staff who carried anything that could be used as a weapon. The doctor in charge found himself being slowly choked by his tie, and was later completely asphyxiated with it. Upon the doctor's death, the thing's assault on the room ceased, and the weapons were dropped to the ground, able to be retrieved. No individual thought to fight back. The thing was then escorted to an area where it would recieve treatment.

The treatment would've consisted of the use of hypodermic needles, but upon impact on the charred skin's surface, the needles seemed to be bent or flexed irreversibly, ruining them. Any medication was rejected. Any drugged food seemed to somehow find it's way back to the individuals who sent it, causing several cases of personnel being hospitalized for drug-related injuries. The only real medical treatment allowed by this thing was the changing of the bandages that surrounded its dessicated body. And even analzysis of the samples left on the bandages were somehow tampered with or otherwise unusable in analysis.

The subject is able to, and is allowed, to wander Jericho's grounds, but is seldom seen unless he wants to be seen. This leads to viewing of the burning man, and starts up rumors of the grounds being haunted by a man who was destroyed in a fire some time ago. The subject seems intelligent enough to communicate verbally, but either does so empathically, or simply chooses not to. It's mental capacity seems almost like a child, inquisitive in nature. Though while the inquisitive nature seems to make it child-like and harmless, the thing is indeed capable of complex thoughts and processes. This can lead to disastrous results, which lead to the belief that though this thing exhibits mutant-like traits, it may not even be human.

The staff around it dubbed him Bandage, due to the wrappings surrounding it's body. It currently resides at Jericho, and is fed and taken care of by the staff, though they are reluctant to, and are court-ordered, not to divulge information involving this subject.

Note: I'm planning to transfer Bandage over to the X-Men universe. Any Star Wars related biography or information on him is irrelevant to this setting.

    Alias: Apollo
    Age: 33
    Occupation: Nightclub owner
    Allegiance: Neutral/himself
    Height: 5'11"
    Nationality: Italian
Powers: Highly accelerated healing factor, immunity to illness and disease. Although he may sustain sufficient injuries to be 'out of comission' for some time, these wounds will always heal. He is also able to extend his gift to others, through physical contact - though the limitation of his power in this respect is unknown, and often requires greater time than healing his own injuries. Whilst healing himself or others, Lucca radiates an intense white light. When his ability is passive, the light manifests as a soft golden aura.

Biography: Owner of the exclusive nightclub 'Domus Area' (Golden House), Fratellini is a luminary amongst the mutants and non-mutants alike. His mutant-exclusive club has gained a large amount of national press, making Lucca something of a celebrity. In spite of a number of high-profile interviews and photoshoots for magazines such as L'Uomo Vogue, very little personal information is known about him.
