Goodbye and Godspeed, Commander Scott. May your dilithium crystals be forever undamaged and your warp drive perpetually well-maintained as you commence your voyage into the final frontier.

At his death, Scotty was a Captain (TNG Episode: Relics).

Very sad, although at 85 and suffering from Alheimers disease, he's probably liking it a lot better now.

Yeah, I think maybe LD (correct me if I'm wrong) posted a link some months ago about how he had developed alzheimers and would be making his last public appearance. The end for him was going to be soon, and as I watched First Contact last week I wondered how he was doing. I guess now I know.

I wasn't completely surprised at his passing, but still greatly saddened nonetheless. The first memory that came to mind after hearing of his death was of a banquet my mother and I attended with a bunch of Trek folks, and Jimmy went dancing through the banquet room with a tray balanced on his head.
Godspeed, Mr. Scott.

I don't think it was me who posted the link, JMK, maybe it was Lady Vader.
