Target: Bespin - Meeting of the Minds

Tarrick stood around the holoprojector, looking over the details that he and his XO had figured on their arrival at Bespin. Looking back over the details, Tarrick knew it wasn't the typical arrival.

With arriving at a hostile planet in the control of the enemy, standard procedure was to bring an overwhelming force, ready for battle.

It they were arriving at a pacified, loyal planet, then they were arrive in standard orbit and then announce themselves and away contact.

What they were coming into was something in between and much more dangerous... an Imperial planet that seems to be not in line with Imperial Policy. They could be welcomed, or worse, they could be attacked.

They had to be ready for each reception with just enough force to force the planet to stand down and accept their authority.

Also, along with that they had to be ready to capture any forces that might try to escape.

To that end, he had sent all his squadron leaders and Commanding Officers to attending the planning session. He also sent a holo request to Sanye Tagge to join in as well since she would be handling the political aspect of this venture.

As the others gathered, Tarrick, along with his XO continued the mission briefing. Tarrick pushed a button on the holoprojector and the great swirling ball of gas known as Bespin appeared. The holoprojector pulled back, shrinking the ball down and showing the space around the planet.

“This is Bespin, in the Anoat Sector. We have been tasked with arriving and taking control of the Imperial Defenses of the planet, securing it for the arrival of the rest of Admiral North’s fleet. Due to circumstances, our welcome may be less that cordial. As such we are approaching the planet as to expect hostilities.”


Tarrick pushed a button and four ships appeared. Three were the ISDs assigned to his task force and the fourth was a smaller ship, a non descript freighter.


“When we arrive, our forces will drop out of space beyond the sensor edge of the planet. From there, we will send in the freighter who will then beam back information to us regarding any forces that Bespin might have in the system, as well as local comm. traffic. Once we have the location of their forces, we will perform a micro jump into the system using the planet’s gravity wells to pull us out. It will put us directly over http://www.sw-fans.net/forum/ />Cloud City, effectively cutting off the most direct escape routes from the station. When we arrive, a communication will be sent out regarding control of Cloud City and it being turned over to Minister Tagge. We will be arranged in such a way that defense ships will be under our guns as soon as we arrive. I don’t foresee the use of violence is necessary, but I’m always ready.”

Tarrick pushed a button and holoprojector updated the information. It showed Tarrick’s forces arriving in a pyramid formation with the Admonisher at point. It was directly over Cloud City.


“At this point we will launch our fighters to corral any ships from leaving the sector. The appearance of Jedi on Cloud City hasn’t gone unnoticed and the Empire is eager to question those that know something. Also, upon arrival, all Cloud City defenses are to be grounded until we can step in and take control.”


Another update appeared on the holoprojector. This one zoomed in on a squadron of fighters leading a squadron of assault shuttles.


Tarrick’s voice lowered to a growl. “Since the Shadows has shown themselves eager for a fight, they will be launching at our rendezvous point along with our assault shuttles. The assault shuttles will house our landing troops. When we arrive at Bespin, they will arrive 3 seconds later, further down in the atmosphere. Their job is to protect those shuttles and to make sure that we get our ground troops on Cloud City as quick as possible. The success of this mission depends on how quickly we take the city.”


At this point, Tarrick stopped and looked at the commanders involved.
