ROYSTON HAVARUSH MAGNUS BASILLIE IV
Thirty-two :: Human :: Onderon Royal Family :: Prince
Currently Located: Izis City, Onderon

Character Background:

The son of Prince Royston Basillie III, Duke of Tassieux and cousin to the reigning queen Adraudia Basillie. As an only child he is in direct line of succession for the dukedom of Tassieux.
When First Minister and Senator Salem Ave retired from his position, Royston was one of many who applied for the position. Instead it went to Salem's protege Ashar Nerofi.
Royston has long been searching for a means of promoting himself above his station and earning prestige and power for himself separate from the royal family.
Even though he lost the race for Senator, he has continued to pursue a career in politics, even going as far as to work in the office of the Senator. He has invested time and resources into his future dukedom, which has done a lot to heal his relationship with his father and with some other members of his family. Other family members are still waiting for the other shoe to fall and do not expect this trend to last.

Raw Material:

EDUCATED: As with most royals, Royston has received a first rate education both on and off-world. However, he did not excel in academics, becoming frequently bored and distracted. His educators remarked that he had an uncanny ability to always score just high enough to pass. It was too precise to be unintentional. He spent his free time partying or sleeping instead of studying.
SPOILED: Royston has lived a very soft, privileged life within the safety of the city walls. He has never known any real hardship or been made to endure many obstacles. His position as a royal has gifted almost anything that he has desired. As a result he is very spoiled and has an expectation to get whatever he wants. He does not like being denied that which he desires.
DRIVEN: Though spoiled, he is not without the inclination to do what needs to be done to achieve what he wants should he be denied the hand out. He imagines himself to be quite clever, but his usual method of success is a level of ruthlessness that leaves others in no position but to do what he wants.
MISGUIDED: Every other year Royston has a new scheme he has birthed or fallen for that promises quick riches, power, or some other commodity that he desires. These schemes almost never turn out the way he wishes, and more often leave him worse than he started. The rest of the family is well aware of his eccentricities and keep him at arms length when he comes around looking for partners in his latest scheme.
HIDDEN POTENTIAL: Like most of the royal family, Royston is force capable although he lacks any sort of formal education on the subject. He has developed some abilities in his own time but he has kept it hidden from the rest of the family and instead portrays himself as quite plain in this regard. Sometimes he uses these abilities as a party trick to impress his guests.
RUDE: Royston is often pompous or sarcastic, rarely treats others with any respect unless their status demands it. He often uses and abuses his friends and companions, most of which are only such because of his own status and wealth. He loves to hear himself talk and does so excessively.

Maybe you can rein him in better than I, Salem.
