Currently on: [CLASSIFIED]

Character Background:

Zachariah "Jackal" Jak'el is an elite pilot in the Special Operations Starfighter Wing "Shadow Squadron." His designation is Shadow 9.
The Jak'els were a family of farmers settled on Naboo's swamp moon Rori. An outbreak of brainworms struck the city of Narmle and killed many of it's citizens. The entire Jak'el family was wiped out except for Zach. Unable to run the homestead on his own, he was sent back to his family's ancestral home in Kaldaara to live with his Maternal Grandmother.
His grandmother had him sent to the Imperial Academy when he came of age to continue a proud family tradition of military service.
Zach developed a love of flying that pushed him toward the Navy. He would eventually find himself in the role as a starfighter pilot. He showed great potential, especially for some country boy from Naboo. He would eventually find himself recommended to the Special Operations Starfighter Wing Shadow Squadron, which was in need of an immediate replacement for a fallen pilot. The position was meant to be temporary but he would perform so well that it became permanent.

Raw Material:

The Jak'els were a very patriotic and religious family that believed strongly in doing what's right, following the law, supporting the troops, and following the word of their lunar goddess Shiraya. These core values were deeply rooted in the family's identity. They could trace their lineage all the way back to the first colonists to settle Rori, having received land as a reward for years of service to the Capital.
Zach's Maternal Grandmother, Nala Kirkbaine, was a prominent figure in the city of Kaldaara. A wise elder that once served as mayor of the city for several years. She passed shortly after the peace treaty was signed.
After the peace treaty was signed, Zach was briefly removed from active duty over concerns of his loyalty. His homeworld was now a part of the Alliance. After a long vetting process to determine his loyalty that revealed he had no immediately relatives still alive on Naboo, and after many positive character witnesses from his squadron and superiors, he was allowed to return to active duty.
Compared to the rest of his squadron, Zach is relatively inexperienced and young. He is often a target of hazing, pranks, and playful ribbing.
Due to the peace treaty standoff, Zach was not able to attend the festival of life that celebrated the passing of his Grandmother; the last of his immediate family.
