LIEUTENANT NORIO ITZALIZAR
31 :: Alliance of Free Planets :: Mechanic
Currently aboard Jovan Station

Character Background

Up until 10 ABY, Norio served as a TIE Pilot in the Elrood Sector. Following the Treaty of Ktil, the Elrood Sector became part of the Alliance of Free Planets, and Norio was among the officers who opted to transfer their allegiance to the Alliance military. After retraining at the Challenger Flight School, he has been assigned to Titan Squadron on Jovan Station.

Raw Material

Though no longer an Imperial, Norio never defected, on principle or otherwise. His choice to serve with the Alliance was one of convenience and pragmatism. As a result, he does not have the same vocal negative attitude towards the Empire that many of his fellow former Imperials have, and he still retains a lot of his old Imperial attitudes and mindsets.
Norio flies a B-Wing. He finds the configuration the most comfortable and familiar compared to the TIE Fighters he has flown in the past. He has never been assigned to a fighter with shields before, and finds all the bells and whistles that come with a B-Wing to be the most "satisfying", and the most quintessentially Alliance.
Earlier in his career, Norio trained at the Skystrike Academy (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Skystrike_Academy) on Montross. As an Alliance pilot, his helmet still carries the stylised Interceptor wing diamond from the Academy's logo.
Norio is evasive about his past, though not to the extent that he has withheld anything from the Alliance. It isn't that he doesn't like talking about it: he just knows that others don't like hearing him talk about it, particularly when he doesn't seem to display any sort of remorse or regret for his service. As far as he's concerned, he did a job and he did it well, and he shouldn't feel any shame about that.

Plot Ideas

Being a pretentious douchenozzle. Rubbing Alliance folks up the wrong way.
Piloting stuff!
Run-ins with defectors? How will he feel about them, and how will they feel about him?
Meeting survivors of Alderaan and/or other Imperial attrocities, putting a face on what the Empire has done.
Encounters with folks who see him as a security threat?
