Hrulabbok Q'ujiidik a.k.a. Spanner
14 :: Jawa/Alliance :: Scavenger/Mechanic

Character Background

Born on Tatooine to a clan of Force-sensitives
Like most all other Jawas, developed an aptitude for scavenging and repairing technology
Throughout his life, had visions of his future among the stars
Developed serious friction in the clan and with the Clan-Chief as he wasn't satisfied with salvage, but instead with inventing new things
Dreamed of leaving the planet to see the greater galaxy
Received several visions due to his Force-sensitivity, though was never told by anyone, including the clan shaman, as to what they meant
After a serious confrontation with the clan elders due to his rebelliousness, Spanner ran away and hitched a ride with an Alliance Intelligence agent into Alliance space
Filled with hope and conviction for the Alliance cause, Spanner puts his natural talents to use for the Alliance while taking advantage of the ability to travel amongst the stars

Raw Material

No one can pronounce his real name correctly, so everyone just calls him Spanner due to his technical know-how. He is also rarely seen without his tool-belt
Spanner tries to live his life as a paficist, but should the situation arise, he would rather fight indirectly than directly. The Tall-Legs are easy to misdirect, and their faith in the security of their tech is amusing
Spanner is still actually a child, though no Tall-Legs can seem to tell the difference
He is an idealist, and always sees the best in people
Spanner has no knowledge of his Force potential. He just assumes that he is inspired by the muses or is very lucky when his abilities manifest themselves
He can get just about anything working, though his methods are ... unconventional
Spanner loves to invent new things whenever he can, giving the best of his creations to those he calls friend

Plot Ideas

Perfect for any Alliance mission that needs a talented technician
At some point, a Jedi or Sith is going to run into Spanner and sense what he is capable of
Spanner wants to travel desperately, and will fly with anyone if an adventure is promised
He has a desperate thirst for knowledge, and will follow anyone who promises him it
While he has some wits due to his scavenging and trader past, he is still young and very naive
He likes to listen to philosophical debates, and is very impresisonable

Existing Relationships

His clan elders, who have since banished him from the clan
The Alliance Intelligence agent who recruited him into the Alliance and whom Spanner looks up to as his savior

Li Ho Fook

If Spanner needs a short (no pun intended) hop from one place to another, Fook is usually down for helping another little guy, as he's a short, Force-adept fellow himself. Not to mention his ship could likely use some work. Would be rather a culture clash, though, as Fook isn't really like anyone else out there, and certainly does his own thing. Fook would be able to tell Spanner has some Force connection, but might not pry into it too much, despite making no attempts to hide his own Force-sensitivity. Could be a fun adventure.

Also, Jovan Station is always in need of a good technician, and I'm sure that Chief Engineer Anauri Rabeak would be glad to sign on another tech to the team. Jovan is an Alliance station, so it might be a good place for Spanner to get to better see how the Alliance operates, and find his place within it. If he can put up with Anauri, that is, who is basically Engineering's grumpy team dad.
