April Strangers Challenge

*I'm putting April's challenge up a week early so that folks can have a chance at some advanced planning and not have to rush about trying to get things in order*










APRIL CHALLENGE

Start and finish a thread between two characters that have never been in a thread before. It doesn't have to be a super long thread, so don't think you have to pen War and Peace. Whether it be a fun little romp, or a bit of character dev that you've always wanted to do, now's your chance to broaden the horizons of your characters and get them out of their comfort zone.

This is such a good idea, and I'm totally down for it.

The three characters I'm submitting for this are:

Abarai Loki - former Jedi Knight, now wandering vagrant, who can be found at Jovan Station, or, pretty much anywhere in the Outer Rim.

Jeryd Redsun (https://theholo.net/forum/showthread.php?57133-Jeryd-Redsun-Cadet-of-the-Imperial-Knights) - Imperial Knight cadet who is mostly limited to the Citadel, on Coruscant, but can be tempted away on the premise of an away mission, or even on weekend pass/temporary leave.

Bear Banthabrand (https://theholo.net/forum/showthread.php?57289-Bear-Banthabrand) - scrappy bounty hunter who will take any job, no matter how small and demeaning, provided there are credits involved.

I am super behind on my current threads but this is a neat idea! I have plotters/wikis for all my toons, in case someone wants to plot something. :)

ANY of my many characters are available to tango - ESPECIALLY if I haven't personally RPed with you before. I like meeting new people!

Here's a few of my characters that are particularly active in my muse at the present time:

Matatek Sel Vissica - Imperial Knight, Truthy Paladin, Giant Otter.

Mags Sondeeta - K-Wing bomber pilot, Spiky Space French Twi'lek.

Gradoona Pod-Floewander - Alliance engineer, friendly funny-talking space whale.

Draiya Naaiyaneya - Teenage Jedi Padawan, sneaky sneak illusionist.

Eluna Thals - Human replica assassin droid, secret Disney princess.

Ben Merasska - He smuggles things, and can be pretty funny if his life isn't making you cry.

Shuvin Undhi - She works with Ben, but she's less of a homebody and as such you don't have to hire her to have a good chance of meeting her!

Kazahan - An almost seven foot tall Trianii Jedi Padawan. He will probably ask you if you are a cat.

Sarin von Metzger - Lupine arms manufacturer and dealer. You wants guns and explosives, under or over the table and for cheap? He's your guy.

Palara Iscandar - Space Franch Imperial Knight. She can be both an ally and antagonist.

There are others, too, but these are my more active characters of late.

I think we need to approach this challenge differently. We can all offer up characters but I don't know how quickly that will get anywhere. The better choice might be instead to offer up plots that we've always wanted to do, that may be a bit out of the way and less likely to attract players, and see if anyone wants to join in.

Or just start a bunch of open threads and see where they take us.

This challenge DOES NOT become active until April 1st. The week-long head start is for planning and prepping. Any thread started beforehand between two un-met characters will not count :p

I don't know if I have anything like that to offer up (not stuff that could feasibly get done inside a month, at any rate!) but I am down for doing A Lesson In threads with people as Lúka, if they have a Cadet at the Citadel with a specific "thing" that warrants some attention. Those have been pretty fun/easy to write thus far.

Some of my droids and novelty characters would probably make for pretty quick/fun threads as well. There's Ivy wandering around at the Citadel, Sleazy wandering around in the seedy areas of Cloud City, and Yon the Butcher waddling around on Jovan Station.

Amos Iakona might maybe be good for a quick sparring/training sort of thread on Ossus if there are people still around, and Lux can probably manage to pop up and be Space British at people wherever needed.

I'm planning on setting up some corporate theft with Ryloth Grimhammer, so if anyone has some shady characters that want to run in the shadows with him keep a lookout for the recruitment thread. The goal will be stealing a working cloaking device, or failing that the stygian crystals that power it, to sell back to the Empire for a hefty price. That means pissing off a Company and probably getting corporate bounties put on our heads if they find out who did it. The operations will require a lot of stealth, slicing, and no doubt a shootout or two.

Sorry for the slight thread hijack, but if you want to steal said prototype/crystals from Santhe/Sienar, I'd be more than happy to play the corporate villain for that story arch with Achilles Sienar-Santhe.

I'd like to take part in this. Characters I'd offer up would be...

Calder Rathborne - Dyspethan defender. Really wanting him to branch out to other worlds with some of his recruits.

Diego Torres - Bounty Hunter, expert tracker, history junky. Maybe some kind of treasure hunt, Uncharted style?

Dorian Argenus - jack of all trades, eventually would like him recruited Alliance but want to build up some backstory first. Running into trouble with some Imperial types could be fun.

^ I'm not sure I have anyone who would jive with the story unfortunately, but I would read the heck out of Uncharted in space. :ohno

I would love to write more of this character, so if anyone think one of my plot ideas could help (or have another one they want to toss my way!) I am all ears.

I've started a thread on Ossus for anyone who wants to meet Teagan's mysterious uncle Mr. Feint. He'll be kicking around for the undetermined future so it's about high time he got to know the people in the area.

I also have my sithspawn servant Skalk who is currently in suspended animation waiting for someone to discover the tomb he's housed in and awaken him. He would attach himself to whoever that person is and become their servant. Bear in mind he is an inherently evil little bugger with a mind for sneaking, stalking, and stabbing, as well as serving and tracking force adepts/artifacts. He's clever like a fox. If anyone wants to go claim him let me know and we can work out the details.

So, upon getting back from Celebration, it seems that our net is down. I have a technician coming out tomorrow so hopefully we'll be back up to operational status sooner rather than later, and I can continue with this month's challenge :)
