Colors and Legibility

This is a reminder that not everyone uses a dark grey or black background style set, and strongly suggest that all posters use the default text color unless it's for specific emphasis, such as a visual introduction.

Using a different color for speech isn't a great use case. Quotation marks work fine! If you have more than a few words per post colored, you may want to reconsider that other forms of emphasis are available.

The mobile style set, for example, uses a light background.

^ Just bumping this as a gentle reminder. Even if you use a dark style (like I do), there are plenty of text colours that are almost unreadable when you use something other than the default.

The default text colour for any given style is generally the most readable one.
