Nira Portian
19 :: Corellian/Human/Loner :: Lookout
Currently in: Few cliques outside Corellian Capital
Character Background
Raised on the streets, Nira learned to take care of herself at an early age. She had been there all her life, so she didn't think it such a bad lot, except when she was hungry... which wasn't often if she could help it.
When the ship crashed down and threw her life into more chaos, it wasn't far from her sector of the city, she knew there had to be a change. In the streets where she lived, the slums were home to all kinds. No one cared if you were Republic, Alliance, Imperial or a cutthroat. As long as the deals were covert, and the heirarchy in each sector was respected, things were BUSINESS AS USUAL.
After the ship came down, that all changed. The Alliance and Republic members and sympathizers were no longer tolerated. The locals started leaving the bodies of such people out for others to see as a warning. And Nira was no different. She had slit more than her fair share of throats in the last few months. But she knew there was something more she could do.
In the pleasure house where she worked as a bartender, she overheard something she shouldn't have. Alliance supporters planning and plotting. She followed them just outside the city where she found a set of houses, an old plantation of some kind, that was being used for smuggling of all sorts. Knowing she couldn't take it down herself, she began to make sure that comms of intel landed in the right hands on a regular basis.
Raw Material
. Nira is young, 19, but if one knows what to look for, she is older than her years in experiences (more bad than good)
Excellent with a knife, and incredibly good with a rifle, she can hold her own against nearly anything.
Her weakness is in hand to hand. While she can hold a knife well enough not to lose it in a tussle, grabbing and holding on to a person is a skill she hasn't quite mastered.
With dark hair and eyes, she can appear menacing or ethereal depending what circumstances warrant. In the pleasure house, many call her exotic. Those who know her call her Nexu for her ability to claw and bite with bullet and steel.
Her loyalty is with the Empire. While she hadn't cared who ruled as she was growing up, the Star Destroyer ruining her quiet existence had tilted her severely to hating the Alliance and the Republic, by connection.
Plot Ideas
. Recruited for Intel or Army of the Empire
Discovered and sold off world
Existing Relationships
.The owner of the pleasure house, CORELLIAN ORCHID, is like a father figure to her. He knows of her nighttime exploits and continueusly warns her to be careful. Her rifle is his old Imperial sniper rifle. It's old, but it's remarkably maintained and never failed her. He taught her to shoot.
The ladies in the house consider her a baby sister, some are overly protective of her to the point of turning down clients who INSISTE they won't play unless Nira joins in.
She is no stranger to what men are capable of (mostly the ugly side). She killed a man for pushing her limits beyond what she stated she would allow. That's why she tends bar now, instead. (Apparently, killing clients isn't good for business)
Current Plots
. Nira has discovered a band of Alliance supporters who are smuggling from a location just outside the city. She is keeping the Empire informed of operations via comm missives every ten days.
