JERYD REDSUN
18 :: Human/Galactic Empire/Imperial Knights :: Cadet
CURRENTLY ON: CORUSCANT
Character Background
Born and raised on Coruscant. Jeryd is the son of Captain Weximan Redsun of the Imperial Navy, and Senior Administrator Anyarika Redsun, of the Coalition of Progress.
He has an older brother, Aryn, who is a Junior Lieutenant in the Imperial Navy.
As a young teen, he was sent to the Manarai Military Prep School, where he excelled as a student, joined the local Sub-Adult Group, and captained the resident wegsphere team.
Jeryd was 16 when discovered he was Force sensitive; he kept it a secret from everyone except his parents. His mother disowned him, and his father attempted to remedy his son's condition by fast-tracking him into the Academy of Carida.
For a year, he trained, and committed himself to being an exemplary student. But before he could be reassigned to become an officer in the Imperial Army, his Force sensitivity was exposed by the Empire's screening process, and his dreams were dashed.
He attempted to run away, but was apprehended before he could leave the planet, and subsequently escorted to the Imperial Citadel.
Raw Material
Jeryd is deeply ashamed of what he is, because, his whole life, he had been taught to hate and distrust those who used the Force. It is the abberation of a traitor.
He is a proud son of the Empire, and wants nothing more than to dedicate his life to its service and glory. The treaty with the Aliance, in his opinion, does nothing but grant legitimacy to traitors and terrorists.
His worldview is naive, coloured by prejudice and propaganda. His only exposure to the galaxy beyond the academy walls has been on vacation to fancy tourist resorts. He has only ever met two aliens in his life.
He respects anyone willing to serve the Empire.
He enjoys competition, and is an excellent marksman and wegman.
Plot Ideas
Let's explore the Citadel!
I'm a self-loathing freak. Help me accept what I am.
Can you show me the ways of the Force?
Hey rookiee, let me teach you how to strip that rifle and polish your boots.
You think your good? Well, I'm better! Oh, yeah? Prove it!
So what if you're a poverty-stricken alien? I'm a privileged human with daddy issues. You don't know the struggle!
