Do you have Force powers? Do you want to use them for the glory of the Empire? That's a trick question - of course you do! We all know the Imperial Knights graciously provide education and job placement for Force adepts in the Empire, but we haven't yet met any of the beneficiaries of the Empire's generosity. Let's fix that!

For a while I've wanted to see a team of young misfit Knight Cadets in training under the senior Knights. Training has been such a big part of Jedi RP - if the Imperial Knights are dark echoes of the Jedi, we need to see how their training works, too! I see the Imperial approach being much more pragmatic and militaristic. No sentimental master/apprentice relationships here - each class of cadets trains together, studies together, spars together, and is dispatched on field missions with full-fledged Knights and other Imperial military personnel. Let's throw some impressionable youths through the grist mill of Imperial progress!

I see this as being part Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, part Ender's Game, part Starfleet Academy, and part Starship Troopers. Considering the Empire is pressing all Force Adepts into service, our cadets could come from anywhere, willingly or unwillingly. Loyal son of the Empire serving out of duty and honor? Problem child rebelling at every opportunity? Abused alien just looking for a place to fit in? Volatile prodigy with powers running amok? Let's throw them all together and see what happens.

If you're interested, post your character ideas here!

This is exactly what I've been thinking of doing for this characters revamp. I've got to adjust his background a touch and iron out the details but consider me interested.

And here's mine! Going to whip up a quick bio here:

Name: Onika Zepparah
Species: human/Twi'lek halfbreed
Age: 16
Homeworld: Coruscant

The bastard daughter of a mid-level Imperial bureaucrat and his Twi'lek mistress, Onika is used to being unwanted. Regarded as an embarrassment in her father's household, an outsider in her mother's alien ghetto neighborhood, and a target at the Wilhuff Tarkin Memorial boarding school where she was sent to keep her out of everyone else's way. With few friends and fewer prospects after graduation, she simply tried to make herself as unnoticeable and insignificant as possible, until one fateful day when she was cornered by several members of the school's wegsphere team. Fearing for her life, Onika fought back in a way she didn't even know was possible. After a dramatic display of telekinesis that left several star players seriously injured, she feared the worst... until an agent of the Imperial Knights arrived and informed her that her life was about to change for the better.

Name: Jeryd Redsun
Species: Human
Age: 17
Homeworld: Coruscant

Born to a family of prestige and status, Jeryd enjoyed a privileged upbringing typical of someone with a strong Imperial name. The Redsuns boasted a history of distinguished military service: Jeryd's own brother was already a Junior Lieutenant in the Imperial Navy, and his father, Captain Weximan Redsun, had high hopes for his youngest son, too. In the spirit of tradition, Jeryd was sent away to the Manarai Military Prep School, where he excelled as a student, joined the local Sub-Adult Group, and captained the resident wegsphere team. It was a promising start for a future officer of the Imperial Army, that was until his achievements earned him more than just plaudits and trophies. When one of his tutors identified the signs of a Force sensitive in him, Jeryd's perfect world imploded. Fearing the worst, he begged his tutor to keep his secret, and he would in turn cease to participate in sports, or anything else that might expose him.

Aged 16, Jeryd returned home, and, unable to contain his secret anymore, he confessed the terrible truth to his parents. His mother, Anyarika, senior administrator for the Coalition of Progress, hasn't said a word to him since. His father, on the other hand, dealt with the problem the only way he knew how: Jeryd was fast-tracked to the Academy of Carida, where he would realise his dream of becoming an officer of the Imperial Army. A year passed, full of desert warfare simulations, underwater battle tactics, and military history seminars, until the day of graduation was finally upon him. It was also the day his entire year group were screened for Force sensitivity, courtesy of Her Majesty's Imperial Knights. From a class of thousands, he was picked, and his career in the Imperial Army was over before it began.

Jeryd could not bring himself to tell his father the news that night. And, following his graduation, he fled. It took less than an hour for agents of the Empire to track him down - he ran, of course, but he had barely made it to the nearest spaceport before he was apprehended. And, the very next day, he started his new life, trapped between duty and shame, on the path to becoming the very thing he had been taught to hate.
