Maggewetok stepped into the new apartment on Jovan Station, her hands carrying two small boxes containing nearly everything that she owned, beyond the olive drab duffel bag already stashed in the closet in her room. The heavy metal, sliding door remained open for some reason prompting the undercover agent to glance back as if waiting for something to happen. Brow furrowed lightly as she hoped that wasn't the first of many for the glitch list here. Sighing, she continued down the short entryway and stepped left into the kitchen, then set the stacked boxes onto the counter that fronted the kitchen's length, dividing it from the modest living room beyond. Though empty of any furniture, the Saami from Belsavis had every intention of getting that issue rectified as soon as possible.

Trying each of the switches and autochef suspended above the stove, she opened the door to the refridgeration unit, it's light on and cool air wafting out and ensuring the new tenant that it was working. Closing it again, satisfied, she then moved back to the doorway, frame marked by thick, grey padded tiles. Inspecting the darkened gap in the frame, she noticed the door sitting just within as if waiting for some magic word to work suddenly. Hazel eyes then turned to the control panel and pushed the button to close it, but nothing....

Hmm

Carrying a bag with a variety of things within, including flowers, Cabrin thought on the host of memories he and Ilana had shared and though the Saami from Belsavis was going by her real name now, he couldn't shake the slave name that she used to hold to. He had come to respect her a lot and if he was honest, his love for the agent was strong. Even though nothing had ever come of it, she was the godmother of his two kids and nothing would ever sway his opinions. Nearing the new address that she was claiming now on Jovan Station, he grinned as his blue eyes met her brown and it also didn't take long to realize she was having a problem.

"Hey, what's up," he greeted, glancing now to the open doorway. "First item on the glitch list," he chuckled.

A warm smile greeted her best friend and Maggie hugged him as they neared, then took the bag from him and glanced within as she turned and headed inside the apartment. "Yeah, not sure what's going on with that yet. Just got here myself," she informed, setting the bag upon the counter in the kitchen, noting the flowers. He was always sentimental that way, she mused. Reaching in, she picked out the items, setting each on the counter and several into the refrigeration unit. "Was hoping the maintenance guy had taken care of this before I moved in, but guess he's busy."

Taking a pitcher, she filled it with water and set it on the counter, then placed the flowers within and fanned them out. "These are beautiful."

He had seen his share of maintenance foremen and wondered how close to the mark he was with the one here as Cabrin put his mechanic hat on and tried his best to evaluate what was going on with the door. "Cymbrecia said hi," he informed distractedly. "She should be here soon in fact. Just finishing up a few things with the Witch." Turning, he gazed into the dark, narrow lane and then removed his comlink and turned on the tiny glowrod, then cast the beam of light into the track and soon noticed the issue as she commented on the flowers. Glancing to the hostess, he chuckled, "Thought they might spruce the place up a bit," he motioned into the nearly empty apartment. "Guess I was right."

Moving into the kitchen, "You have any tools with you? Think one of the latches that holds it open is stuck."

"Be good to see her again," Maggie replied, grinning. "Been too long." Cymbrecia had gotten so big, as had Kaliman who was on the road to become a Jedi soon. She felt as if she had watched them grow up and sometimes hated that they were always so far apart. His query prompted the lithe brunette to move to the two boxes that she had carried in, opening the topmost and began sifting through the variety of dishes and cookware to soon find the orange tool kit. Pulling it out, she handed it to him, "Here we go. Knew I packed it."

Following him back to the entry, she moved out into the hallway, instinctually glancing both ways before doing so to ensure they were alone and there wasn't anyone moving toward the apartment with weapon in hand. Sometimes habits died hard. Hazel eyes moved to the gap as she moved slightly behind him, noting the issue. "Really going to have to be careful, that thing could come rushing toward you when you release it." Chuckling, she recalled several other moments where such a warning went unheeded and then came true.

"What," he replied sarcastically, grinning. "Not to worry, professional at work here." The only issue with his attempt to close the door would be that it may not open again which could be a problem, especially if she remained outside. Instead of just clearing the latch within the frame, he pulled out the small analyzer and began checking connections. Pulling open the control panel, he did several power checks and was satisfied that everything was working. "Not the panel," he relayed, then turned his attention back to the darkened lane around the door within the wall. "Must just be stuck. Dirt or something, perhaps," he mused aloud.

Movement within to the left side of the door prompted Cabrin to then shift the light source over and notice two tiny red eyes glinting. "Oh, hello."

Chuckling at his comment, she then moved in behind him and noted the glint of eyes blinking back at them and knew that if she was going to have any peace here, they had to go. Sighing, she hoped that rodents weren't going to become a normal problem here, especially when it came to chewing on power cables inside the walls. "Well, he can't stay there, especially if it means this door getting stuck all the time." Lips pursed to the side as she mused on what she had with her that would get rid of this nuisance, then realized there wasn't much. "I don't have any repellant, but," she stated, then moved back into the apartment and turned right, stepping into the empty bedroom. Opening the doors to the blue-grey, angular shaped armoire, she pulled out her duffel bag and opened it. Reaching within, she grabbed her blaster pistol and set it to stun, then returned to the kitchen, weapon in hand.
