Max Valorum

ASSISTANT DIRECTOR TIBERIUS MAXIMIAN VALORUM
42 :: Galactic Empire :: Imperial Intelligence
Currently on: ???
Character Background
A member of the Eriadu branch of House Valorum, only distantly related to his distressingly ineffective and thank-goodness several times removed cousin, Finis Valorum. While his father spent much of Max's life grooming him for a career as an accountant - and perhaps one day executive - of the family's Valorum Shipping and Transport business, Max craved excitement and adventure. Somehow it all went tragically wrong, and he eventually found himself working as an accountant for Imperial Intelligence.
Max has had a varied - though not especially distinguished - career with Imperial Intelligence. He has worked in finance, logistics, signal intelligence, and R&D, eventually clambering his way up the ranks to his current Assistant Director position. Max hates the boredom and monotony, and so takes every opportunity to sprinkle his life with even the tiniest influx of excitement - though that usually turns out to be hideously stressful and upsetting.
Raw Material
Max is the nephew of Augustus Valorum, the Grand Moff of the Western Reaches; leading some to speculate that his Assistant Director status might be more about nepotism than achievement.
He is firmly in the midsts of a mid-life crisis. He alternates between passionate exuberance about new hobbies, and bleak dejection about how his life thus far has amounted to precisely nothing. He is particularly fixated on the likelihood that he will die alone, and has a woefully tragic string of failed attempts at romantic bliss. His only solace comes from venting his frustrations upon the poor unfortunate individuals who find themselves in the firing arc of his desk.
A little bit neurotic and OCD, especially when it comes to organisation, and filling out forms. Woe betide he who fills out a CR-one-eighty-three form in a non-regulation ink colour.
Often feels like the only sane person in the room, and as if he is surrounded by lobotomised monkey-people.
Plot Ideas
Signal intelligence stuff. Helping with briefings, etc.
Accounting stuff. Yelling at you (yes, you, Agent Esalis) for your explosive diarrhoea spending habits.
Gadget/equipment stuff. If I'm going to do the damned paperwork, then I'm bloody well going to be the one who hands you the cool toys.
Tagging along on missions, and being school girl excited for about the first three minutes, and then spending the remainder of the op hiding in the stakeout van.
Dating. The more desperate and inappropriate the better.
Existing Relationships
Sheldon Esalis - The bane of his existence. Not since the Death Star has the Empire wasted so many misspent credits on something so misguided and ultimately worthless.
Current Plots
None yet!
