Faline Brend
19 :: Neutral - Mandalorian - Force Sensitive :: Wanderer
Currently in: Jumping from one Spaceport to the next

Character Background

Faline Brend was born on Bastion to James Brend and an unknown woman on Bastion. From an early age, Faline's Force Sensitivity showed, but with no Jedi Temple to send her to, Faline was unaware of what she could be capable of
When Faline was 5 years old, her father defected from the Empire to the Rebels to be with his love, a woman named Kaiya Rae, and his sisters, Nalra Brend and Jamie Pavan.
Six months later, James Brend disappeared, leaving Faline orphaned. Kaiya adopted the young girl so she wouldn't be taken away from the family she knew.
Shortly after James' disappearance, Nalra Brend was attacked. When Faline tried to hide with her cousin, Jamie, the attacker, a man named Gauge Eclipse, kidnapped Faline.
For four years, Faline was forced to travel with Gauge to prevent her from being found by her family and the Republic. During this time she made numerous escape attempts but was always recaptured and beaten as punishment
At the age of ten, the ship she and Gauge were on crashed on Concordia, killing all on board bar herself. Found barely alive by a clan of Mandalorians, she was adopted into House Lordel by its leader, Kitana Lordel, who took on the role of nursing and raising Faline back to health
Faline's Force Sensitivity allowed her to pick up the Mando'a language quickly. It also assists her when fighting and alerting her when she (and sometimes those close to her) is about to be in danger by giving her 'bad feelings'.

Raw Material

. While Faline has been raised as a Mandalorian, she is Force Sensitive, which, with proper training, would allow her to become a Jedi, but she actually isn't aware of her Force Sensitivity. She just believes she's 'lucky' at times.
. She has very little recollection of her biological family and has not sought to find them for many reasons, most of which stem from her fear of finding out if they survived their subsequent attacks and the feelings of abandonment because they did not rescue her from Gauge.
. Her kidnapping still haunts her dreams...as do the memories of her biological family and the beatings she took from Gauge. She keeps that pain to herself, however.
. She speaks with an Imperial accent, but often mixes it with Mandalorian words.
. Like most Mandalorians, Faline enjoys being put to the test whenever she takes on a contract, however, her nature in general means that she will kill if she has to, but prefers to keep her quarry alive when possible.
. She's incredibly loyal to her friends and those she considers family.
. She has her own ship, a VCX-100 light freighter and a modified R9 astromech droid named 'Ricochet' though she often refers to the droid as 'Rico'.
. Despite being an adopted Mandalorian, who have ties with the old Empire, Faline considers herself to be neutral in any conflicts, though always seems to be on the lookout for the little guy when times suit her.

Plot Ideas

. Faline is currently looking for companions for missions and possibly for training.
. Anything that brings Faline out of her shell would be great too!
. From mundane to exciting. Plot twists are a must
. TFA Era only, Faline is too young to exist in older era :)
.

Existing Relationships

. Faline's biological family are still out there, but as yet, Faline has not sought them out because of fear. She fears rejection, and of hearing any unfavourable fates. This fear still traumatises her and she often has nightmares of her kidnapping.
. Kitana Lordel, the head of House Lordel and Clan Lordel is Faline's 'Buir' her Mandalorian 'Mother'. She was adopted into the clan after being found in wreckage that killed her kidnapper - Gauge Eclipse.
. Gauge Eclipse is her kidnapper and thoughts of him often send her into a rage. While she is glad he is dead, she wishes it were by her own hands rather than the hands of fate.
