It's not so much burnout... more Repruary. Normally I don't pay rep much mind, but knowing how much rep was left last month, and seeing how little came my way despite how active I was... kind of a downer. Hard to motivate yourself to write when you know it isn't getting read.

Dude, don't worry about that. I got two pieces of rep all month, and I don't know if I even gave any at all. I'm terrible about not giving rep, always have been. It's a bonus, not a requirement. I'd say the bigger way to look at it is how much fun you're having while writing, not what anyone else thinks about it. People read stuff without leaving rep all the time. Can't get caught up in thinking that no rep means no one is reading what you're doing.

You get feedback about your posting in the AIM chat, though. You have numerous people involved in threads with you.

I don't need an ego stroking. I don't actually like receiving compliments, it makes me incredibly uncomfortable. It's just incredibly difficult to motivate myself - especially when my medical problems make posting so difficult in the first place - when the only reaction to my posting is tumbleweeds. It takes a lot of effort for me to sit, and think, and write... and if that effort feels like it's being wasted, I don't think anyone can blame me for not feeling particularly pumped about expending more.

A couple of comments on threads we were doing together? Sure. And I do appreciate that. But we had a similar conversation to this a couple of weeks ago, and I feel the exact same way. If I'm killing it, that's news to me.

It's not really something I want to have a big public chat about, though. Not trying to fish for compliments... I was just trying to let people know that I'm having a serious motivation drought that I don't know how to fix, and there shouldn't be any breath-holding if anyone's waiting on me to post.

Been super busy over here, sorry :( Charley and I are hoping against hope that we can get back into a semblance of posting normality in the next few days. Between Arie moving in and out-of-the-house activities, I know that at least I'm jonesing for some writing time.
