ADMIRAL ZANE BRASKO
41 :: Goridan Reach / Alliance of Free Planets :: Rear Admiral
Frequently at Jovan Station
Character Background
A career military officer, Brasko was a mere Captain when the Alliance-Imperial ceasefire was declared. He sided with General Kelvin Stark during the Gordian Reach coup, and was elevated to Rear Admiral by Stark as a reward for his loyalty. Despite what his rank implies, Brasko is the senior naval officer for the Gordian Reach's forces.
On orders from now-Senator Kelvin Stark, Brasko has been providing assistance to Jovan Station - replacement parts, expertise, etc - in the wake of the terrorist attacks against the station.
Raw Material
Brasko commands the "Gordian Sector Task Force", which consists of ships from the Sector Fleet that defected to the Alliance. Because of it's access to Star Destroyers and other Imperial hardware it is a little more formidable than a typical Task Force, but most of it's resources are occupied with patrolling the relatively lawless Gordian Reach, and assisting the Second Fleet in the surrounding sectors.
Brasko is NOT part of the Alliance Defense Forces, and so his rank doesn't quite "count" within Alliance circles. He is usually treated with the respect due to an officer of that rank, but has no authority over Alliance ships/officers/etc unless it is expressly given. (In other words: be nice to him, but he can't order you around)
Most people are pretty uneasy around Brasko, especially in higher levels of command and government. No one really likes the fact that there are Imperials still running around with Imperial toys, and most people are naturally suspicious of their intentions - are they biding their time until they betray everyone, etc.
Plot Ideas
Clashes with Alliance personnel if/when he is on Jovan Station. Brasko carries himself like an Imperial, and is likely to rub people up the wrong way. However he is (on paper) an ally, so there may be some reluctant cooperation as well.
Clashes with Imperial personnel if/when he is on Jovan Station. Brasko is a defector as far as the Empire is concerned: he and the rest of Kelvin Stark's forces defected to the Alliance before the Treaty was even signed.
Existing Relationships
Kelvin Stark - Brasko and Stark do not seem to have known each other all that well prior to the Gordian Reach coup, but Brasko emerged as one of Stark's main supporters in the aftermath. In many ways he is Stark's right hand, particularly when it comes to maintaining the security of the Gordian Reach.
Current Plots
None yet.
