Fredal "Freddie" Rabeak
Age: 15 :: Nehantite/Unaffiliated :: Occupation: Mechanic/Technician
Currently on: Jovan/Quasar Fantastic
Character Background
The only child of a very poor, lower working class family.
Considered a runt, for his small stature of 5'6", 120 lbs, he was often bullied in school, and was often the victim of several kinds of abuse from his alcoholic father.
His mother, tired of being abused herself, ran off when Freddie was seven, leaving him with his father. Freddie still thinks he did something wrong as she left without taking him as well.
Did not excel in school, often due to bullying, but he found he has a true knack for machinery, especially engines, and cobbled together many speeders and swoop bikes from parts at the local scrapyard.
Dreams of being an engine technician for a true race team, and of making lots of money and being popular.
Ran away from home at fifteen to escape abuse, and find a better life for himself.
Raw Material
Grew up a poor. crime-ridden trailer park, far on the outskirts of any civilized area. The only things of value he's ever owned have been his tools.
Dreamed of working in the orbital shipyards, but test scores kept him out of technical high school, so he never had the chance to go.
Very meek and quiet, letting his work speak for him. Optimism is tempered heavily by fear of rejection, and punishment for doing something wrong.
Often paranoid of people abandoning him, or taking advantage of him, due to past experiences with friends and family.
Suffered a horrific crash of a homemade, high-speed speeder bike when he was almost fourteen. Excessive scarring to his upper arms and back, with burn scars there, and on his torso and hip as well. Always wears at least 3/4 length sleeves to hide them, and is very self-conscious about them.
Avoids physical contact whenever possible. Has learned to equate being touched with being hurt.
Extremely awkward nervous around pretty girls.
Plot Ideas
Need a cheap-as-dirt mechanic or engine technician for your ship? Freddie is cheap, and dreams of anything that will get him out to see the galaxy.
Want lots of cultural misunderstandings, and awkward teenage mishaps? Freddie is your man!
Need to go really, really, really fast? Got an engine? Freddie can make that happen!
Existing Relationships
"Maron" Acheli San Maronea - Current boss, and pilot/owner of the Quasar Fantastic.
Gantuar - Stange, slightly malodorous Trianii who saved Freddie from fresh abuse. Freddie isn't sure what to make of him yet.
He is not related to Halajiin Rabeak, or Anauri Rabeak, and doesn't know any Nehantite of note.
Current Plots
Got it Where it Counts (https://sw-fans.net/forum/showthread.php?57652-Got-It-Where-It-Counts) - Meeting his racing idol, and hopefully his new boss, Maron.
The Quasar Fantastic (https://sw-fans.net/forum/showthread.php?57651-The-Quasar-Fantastic) - Now employed by Maron, Freddie has to watch out for a new passenger, and then has to deal with an unexpected detour.
Under Pressure (https://sw-fans.net/forum/showthread.php?57704-Under-Pressure) - After his probationary period with Maron, Freddie has a week to kill on Jovan before finding out if he'll be brought on to the team full time. Things don't go well, and he starts off with a humiliating, but familiar, experience, only to be saved by people he doesn't know if he can trust.
