CONNOR KENT
18 :: KRYPTONIAN-HUMAN HYBRID :: FUGITIVE
CURRENTLY IN: GOTHAM CITY

Character Background

Connor Kent is a clone whose genetic make-up is a combination of both Superman DNA and human DNA. He was grown at an undisclosed location by Cadmus Labs; the sixth in a line of clones to have been created, but the first to have been a success.
Eager to test the fruits of their labour, his creators released him prematurely, failing to anticipate the trauma this would cause. Deemed volatile and dangerous, Superboy was scheduled for termination, but he escaped.
In the time since his escape, Superboy crafted for himself a vague identity, and has been learning to live with his condition without causing catastrophy. He has moved from city to city, leaving behind a shrinking trail of destruction in his wake.
He is determined to discover who was responsible for his creation, and why. His investigations have led him to Gotham City.

Raw Material

Connor is often overwhelmed by the sensory overload of having super hearing and vision. These episodes leave him highly agitated and unpredictable.
His interrupted growth process has given him some difficulty with comprehension - he knows the names of things, and what they do, but because he has no personal point of reference to draw from, he struggles to parse their meaning.
Connor is an angry young man who is given to brooding over his own misfortune. He has a fierce distrust of authority, and is deeply resentful of superheroes, especially Superman.
He is identical in appearance to Superman, albeit a younger version of him. This is particularly troubling because if he is recognised, there is a very real risk that he will be tracked down by his creators. Consequently, he is rarely without a hat, and he avoids eye contact as much as he can.
He has developed a fascination with red heads.

Plot Ideas

Meeting freaks like him, who are comfortable with their weird and wonderful abilities. Perhaps with a little friendship, he could achieve a bit of normality for himself.
Finding a place to live - there are plenty of potential roommates, kindly families, and resourceful multi-millionaires out there. Will someone take pity on this poor unfortunate clone? Remember, a Superboy isn't just for Christmas...
A need for thrilling heroics - helping a vigilante, despite his better judgement. Or, alternatively, a brush with local law enforcement that might turn out messy.
Investigating those responsible for his predicament, namely Queen Consolidated and Cadmus Labs.
Connor is captured by his creators, who grant him the option of doing their dirty work in the name of the greater good, or death. Potential temporary villain material.

Kara and Connor need to meet. I think things would be tense. Kara would be disappointed in who Connor is, how he acts, and I imagine Connor would resent Kara's upbeat attitude.

But I also think Kara would care for him. She was sent to Earth to raise a young Kal and missed her chance. She's see this as a second chance (even thought Connor is technically older than her).
