Hal Jordan - Green Lantern

Character Background
Born in Indianapolis, Indiana, Hal was the third son in his family, and followed his father's footsteps in becoming an Air Force pilot.
Highly skilled fighter pilot, was nicknamed "Fireball" by his wingmates after he pushed his jet so hard, one of his engines blew out and he still managed to land, smiling.
Shot down many enemy aircraft in his career, but had no confirmed kills, until his own craft was shot down behind enemy lines. There he was forced to shoot and kill an enemy combatant, using his sidearm.
That experience shook Hal up immensely, and he wound up in an armed forces psych ward for six months before receiving an honorable discharge.
Became a test pilot for Ferris Aircraft, in California. Wound up testing both civilian and military aircraft.
Was fired from Ferris Aircraft in just under a year, as he somehow managed to fly, and crash, a multi-million-dollar flightless simulator. He insists it wasn't his fault.
Moved to Gotham City to take a test pilot job at Wayne Enterprises.
Raw Material
Is known to be cocky and borderline arrogant, though it might be that he's simply not afraid of a challenge.
Was given a power ring by a dying Green Lantern, and the most basic explanation of what it does. Hal is still figuring it out.
Currently, Hal is broke as hell, having sold off most everything he owned while unemployed. Lives in a ratty apartment building on the bad side of town.
Likes to practice with the ring when he can, and when he doesn't think he's being watched.
Doesn't like broccoli.
Plot Ideas
Working with another hero, or heroes, for a full night so he can see how things are done in Gotham.
Gets mistaken for a baddie, by some hero, and winds up on a city-wide chase.
Somehow meets one of the other heroes in civilian form. Shenanigans ensue.
Uses his ring to stop some sort of calamity, and winds up causing more damage than he would have prevented.

Carol Ferris - Ex-boss, ex-girlfriend. President of Ferris Aircraft.
Tom "Pieface" Kalmaku - Chief mechanic at Ferris Aircraft, and a good friend.
Jack and Jim Jordan - Older brothers.
Green Arrow - Vigilante who uses a bow and arrows as his primary tools. Possible mentor.
Supergirl - Saved his butt as he fell out of the sky, and has been able to fill him in on more details regarding what his ring is, what it does, and that he's part of a larger organization.
Current Plots
