Rhinn Ikthoos is an A Commodore now. After all the Sullust and Duro and such. Last time I used him NPC he was based out of Sluis Van.

Hi there! :)

Quite a lot has changed in terms of the storyline here since the last time you were about, so I figured I'd give you a quick(ish) rundown of the stuff that's relevant to you.

To cut a long story short, the Alliance managed to get it's hands on interstellar ballistic missiles called Starkillers, that are capable of stripping off the atmosphere of a planet and rendering it entirely uninhabitable. They used these weapons of mass destruction to leverage the Galactic Empire into a ceasefire, and demanded a bunch of territorial concessions. Some sectors (the Corporate Sector and Arkanis Sector for example), the Empire had to release control of and were left independent, but a whole swathe of sectors became part of the Alliance of Free Planets (we're not the New Republic yet), with Bothawui as the new capital. The galaxy now looks something like this (http://i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd259/o6untouchable/Fans/Galaxy%20Map/Preview6_zps207dd359.jpg~original).

It's worth noting that the Quence Sector (down in O18 and O19) is one of the Sectors that is now part of Alliance Space. That may mean that Moff Briggs has now switched his allegiance to the Alliance and become an Alliance politician, he may have moved to a different sector of Imperial Space (happy to help with suggestions!), he may have gone rogue and become a warlord... all sorts of possibilities.

After a bunch of security snafus, and with the Alliance creating "safe" areas of space, the Jedi decided to abandon the Wheel and settle on Ossus, and have set up a small settlement in the grounds of the old Jedi Library, which they are slowly exploring and restoring to become a new Jedi Temple. Ossus has also been opened to refugees, and there is already at least a group of Gossam refugees led by Tell Cho (who acts as the planet's Senator).

The end of hostilities with the Empire didn't work out great for everyone, though. Worlds like Corellia, Chandrila, Duros, and Ithor remain inside Imperial Space, and many feel that the Alliance has "given up" on liberating them. Some Alderaanians and some former Imperial officers feel that the Alliance hasn't done enough to punish the Empire for it's actions, and that peace feels a little too much like "forgiveness" that the Empire doesn't deserve. Some have left, and some have gone rogue; a rebel group on Corellia recently dropped a Star Destroyer on Coronet City, and others are involved in illegal and/or terrorist activity all over the place.

Most of the fighter pilot characters that are left have been shuffled onto the Challenger: that's the Venator-class flagship of Admiral Vansen Tyree, who is currently leading the 4th Fleet in the defense of Bothawui and the surrounding space (the slightly darker red zone that stretches from row 12 to row 16). Most of the Alliance's elite Starfighter units are based there, and there's something of an unofficial tradition of member-states assigning a unit of fighters (for example, Bravo Squadron from Naboo) to the Challenger to help in the defense of the capital. It's mostly a ceremonial thing, allowing familiar units in familiar planes to be assigned to escort Senators and that sort of thing. The Challenger is also an unofficial Starfighter Academy of sorts: Imperial and civilian pilots who already know how to fly are sent to the Challenger to learn how to pilot more mainstream Alliance fighters.

As far as Rhinn Ikthoos: at one point, he was part of Task Force 42. That unit is about to be put under the command of Castus Annen, a Selonian, and is going to be the Alliance's showcase of joint operations / interspecies cooperation. There are going to be Cizerack ships, Hapan ships, ships that were part of the Rebellion, ships with Imperial crews that defected, all mixed up and bundled together. They'll be doing a lot of counter-piracy, counter-smuggler, border patrol, etc kind of missions on behalf of the 4th Fleet, and as part of defending Bothawui: there's going to be a lot of different races in the mix there, so Rhinn (or Adar) would definitely be a good fit.

Alternatively, if you'd still prefer to have Rhinn around the Sluis Van / Sullust area, that region (lighter red on the map, from column K to column P) is now protected by the Fifth Fleet. It is responsible for the Sluis Van shipyards, Sullust, Naboo, Utapau, Elrood, and a bunch of juicy important alien homeworlds. Sluis Van is just starting a cooperative venture with SoroSuub and a few other groups that will eventually lead to the development of the Defender-class (we're using that name for the Nebula-class Star Destroyer (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Nebula-class_Star_Destroyer)) and Endurance-class, and other things: the idea being that the "southern" shipyards are banding together to compete with the "northern" shipyards (Mon Calamari, Quarren, etc).

I *think* that's everything you need to know to start easing people into things, but if you need any help or have any questions, please feel free to shoot me a PM or grab me on AIM! I may have a couple of ideas related to Rawlston Quinn too, if you'd be up for it. :)

Thank you. I was reading through recent posts trying to figure out what had changed and you saved me about 2 weeks worth of reading.
