The world is suddenly a bit more serious than it needs to be now.

Absolutely gutted. This is a man who will remembered fondly by all. Even future generations will owe him a massive debt in joy and laughter. So so sad. :(

The guy really is a legend. Only Robin Williams could make an early and very promising demo of an ultimately disappointing game (Spore) hilarious. It's ironic that I was watching Night at the Museum an hour before I learned of his passing. Not sure how popular the film is in a wider sense but the wife and I love it, and Robin Williams as Teddy Roosevelt was just great.

He played some of my favourite characters and starred in some truly unique movies.

Favourite characters of mine include of course the Genie from Aladdin, the immortal Mrs Doubtfire, Armand 'Fuck the shrimp!' Goldman in The Birdcage, and opposite Dustin Hoffman's Hook as Peter Pan. Then there's films such as "What Dreams May Come" and "Bicentennial Man" that are such great feelgood movies to me.

Not to take a thing away from his achievements, but I never thought much of his more serious, darker roles such as Insomnia and One Hour Photo. To me, Robin Williams will always be viewed and heard with a smile on my face first and foremost.

Holy shit I almost forgot about Toys! I know a lot of people who fucking loathe that movie but I adore it's quirkiness!

I'm really sad to hear of his passing. I know he had dealt with depression for a long time, and it's really sad that it came to this. Rest in peace O Captain, my captain.

My heart is broken. The world is a darker place now that Robin Williams is no longer in it. He truly was a genius at absolutely everything he did, whether it was comedy or drama...I'm just so grateful that his genius will live on for future generations to see. At least in that way, he can be immortal.

I'd totally forgotten about Night at the Museum...I saw the trailer for the next sequel before Guardians of the Galaxy. His Teddy Roosevelt was one of the best things about those movies. Damn. Damn damn damn. :cry
