View Full Version : Guardians of the Galaxy Far Far Away

Okay, so, I admit it, this is a bit of a fanboy idea, but after briefly talking it over with Andrew, it totally makes sense, and would be a heck of a lot of fun. I'd like to propose an ensemble story arc, based a bit loosely on Guardians of the Galaxy, and it goes a little something like this...

Hal finds out he's got money. Lots of money, and the first thing he does is buy his own ship. Something flashy, exciting and fun, and probably not terribly practical, but with some good firepower. Basically, a space Lamborghini with guns, because that's what Hal's immature desires would want most. So, once equipped with his new (probably pre-owned) ship, Hal wants some freedom, gets it via some research found in the Library.

Far, far away, there's a dead planet that used to have a civilization on it, and somewhere in the ruins is a Jedi holocron. Seeing as the sneaky, actiony missions are what he used to excel at, and because he's got his own ship, Hal gets given the mission to go get the holocron. Also, Hal is fairly expendable, as far as most folks are concerned.

Thus, Halajiin Rabeak is our Star-Lord. Fun-loving, not terribly serious, and loves "retro" music because he was frozen in Carbonite for 107 years, he fits the bill rather well. But that brings us to the rest of the cast.

These are some ideas, but I'd be open to volunteers, or suggestions:

Star-Lord: Hal
Groot: Maybe Rocky, for some weird reason?
Rocket: Jhyx, or as Andrew suggested, possibly a wise-cracking Ewok, or even a new character entirely, if someone wants to play this role.
Drax: Kazahan would be ideal for this, honestly.
Gamora: Maybe Kala? Mostly because...

Nebula: Akasha, definitely.
Ronan: Not sure, likely a Sith Lord. Any volunteers?

The Ravagers: The Ciz, possibly. Maybe Hal's ship is a Ciz design prototype that was stolen, and they want it back for some reason. Who knows?

And, Andrew suggested perhaps Cirr and the Novgorod might give chase, too both helping and hindering our Guardians as the law permits.

Basically, big, giant space romp for fun and action, with our own Star Wars twist on it all. What do you think? Anyone interested?

Awesome! Do we have any other takers? Any other suggestions? I know the boards are a bit slow, right now, but I wanna have some FUN!

I would love to be involved, yes.

Well, that's a start. Though, with Vince and Dee on indefinite hiatus, looks like we will need others to step up for the Drax and Gamora roles. Anyone else out there interested? I know there's been a massive downturn in active players, lately, but I want to bring back some of that big-cast ensemble fun we used to have so much of, here.

Heck, we don't even have to follow the Guardians setup that closely, just having a big, fun ensemble cast would be great. Is anyone else out there interested in this? I want to get something going that can add some much-needed life back to this place, and can energize the Jedi, Alliance, non-affiliated, Sith and Empire factions all at the same time.

I would've offered my bounty hunter character, if I had done more than two posts with him, but as it is, he's nowhere near developed enough for me to contribute anything with him.

We do have plenty of fun and colourful outlaws, underdogs, and misfits around here though. I'm sure you'll have cobbled together an unlikely and loveable gang soon enough. :)

Kale could be a fun addition... and maybe he could persuade Rai'raa to come along and fill the green-skinned alien babe quota. ;)

I can do that. :)

Post away, I'll show up.

Actually, after talking with Dee, a good point was brought up. With so many people attending EuroNerd, would it be better for everyone if I held back for the time being, and we can start it once everyone is back? That'll give more people a chance to chime in and say if they want to be involved, and also give me more time to plan. I'm not intending to have a rigid structure, or anything, but we do need a sort of basic framework for an ensemble cast as big as I'd like this to be.

Basically, if you're on Fans, I want you to be able to be part of this. Let's all pitch in, and just have FUN again!

So what's the status on this? I'm still keen on doing it :)

Kazahan

Kazahan would be most willing to undertake such an adventure. Kazahan does not have many interstellar adventures as a Jedi, that regrets this.

Anyone still up for this? I've just started filtering back...so I'm interested :)

Only minor issue is, I haven't seen the movie...I KNOW! I know...I failed to achieve proper geek quotient this year :(

Not sure if Rocky is a good parallel for groot if you're wanting to have a perfect guardians mix. He is, however, hopelessly geeky and can fix things / people

We were really spitballing looking for a Groot parallel. Another idea I had was one of Suriyesh's LB bulk loaders (http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/LB-series_bulk-loading_droid), but I've already established they don't like to be split up. Naturally, it could be a character that gets picked up later.
