Well, for one thing, the Inquisitorius has been reorganized into the Imperial Order of the Knights of the Throne, or Imperial Knights for short. We're here to serve, Your Highness.

Both the Empire and the Alliance now possess planet-killing interstellar ballistic missiles, called Starkillers, which have introduced a nuclear deterrent to unrestrained warfare. A ceasefire has begrudgingly been called, and the Alliance to Restore the Republic has solidified into the Alliance of Free Planets, a rival political power to the Empire. The galaxy is now in a state of cold war.

The Cizerack Pride has joined the Hapan Cluster in allying itself with the Alliance. Meanwhile, Salem Ave continues to extend his tendrils of influence through multiple levels of Alliance government.

With the ceasefire in place, the Wheel has been disbanded, and the Jedi have found a new permanent home on Ossus. A compound is under construction including living quarters, utilities, and training facilities for the new Jedi Order.

Dan Thrule's identity as a Sith has been revealed to Alliance intelligence. Darth Decepis has cast Loklorien s'Ilancy aside and left her for dead on Hoth, but Rev Solomon and Zem Vymes successfully saved her life and turned her back from the Dark Side. That storyline has yet to be finished, but the assumption is the good guys won and the Dan Crisis is over.

The Imperial Starfleet is kind of drifting aimlessly right now, with Imperial Commanders having their loyalty to the Empress tested by their desire to seek out and engage the accursed Rebel Scum, for which they would have to go rogue now and possibly join shady elements. Everyone commanding a Destroyer sized ship or smaller has plenty to do in battle against Pirate and Smuggler scum, but the commanders of large ships (Star Battlecruisers and Star Dreadnoughts) wonder what's in store for them and their ships in the future?

Some Imperials have ceded from the Empire to start their own micro rebellions that are little more than terrorist attacks against the Empire that they feel betrayed them while also striking at the Alliance's weak spots. Damien is trying to force the Empire/Alliance's hands into using the Starkillers and finishing the war once the standoff is over. Basically a win or die trying.

The Empire has become quite the powder keg.
