So I've been thinking about what I can do whilst this Cold War is going on because fleeting for the most part has been disabled for this period. Therefore, I was hoping to have a sort of ambassador character who doesnt have strong political ties but is reasonably well known. Lucian Dexter is a former holodrama star appearing in several recent holodramas. I was thinking he could possibly be recruited by one of the two sides as sort of a semi-celebrity ambassador, sort of like a (hopefully) more successful Dennis Rodman trying to diffuse the tension between the ARR and the Imps, probably with the help of a politicians from whichever faction recruits him. Im currently working out the full details of his background and will need to enlist the help of one of you old farts to make sure Im not mucking things up too much. :mischief

If you decide to go Imperial, I have a couple of characters you might want to cross paths with!

Amés Falcon Liszt is the Minister of the Interior, which basically means he's the politician who oversees COMPNOR. They do everything from building roads and hospitals to funding art exhibits and scholarships, but they're also the agency that the ISB and the Sub-Adult Group are part of, so they're a big part of the indoctrination side of the Empire. Amés might not be able to set you up as the kind of Ambassador who flies to Alliance planets to negotiate trade disputes, but if a propaganda / good will ambassador type celebrity role is more your speed, he might be able to help set that up.

Ceto Rübezahl is the Moff for the Greater Javin, with is not only the region containing Cloud City, but also "Corporate Sector 2.0", since the Alliance is kind of in the way of us accessing the old Corporate Sector. More than that, he's also an ex holo-star, and while he tried to have a serious acting career before he retired to enter politics, people still remember him best from being one of the stars of Republic Rangers - a sort of Power Rangers meets Clone Wars children's propaganda show that the Republic made a few decades ago. He might not be an ideal candidate to recruit you per se (unless you happen to be living in the Greater Javin at the time), but he might make for a cool friend / associate / political ally type person. Who knows, maybe they even worked together at some point in the past, and have some history?

Also, I know Sanya Tagge (the Baroness of Cloud City) used to be the Minister of Propoganda. I'm not sure if she still is or not; if she is, Jenny might be a good person to talk to, since Sanya is something of an expert on using men to get what she wants. :mischief

Based off of Lucian's prior lack of political negotiations I imagined him as more of a propoganda/ goodwill ambassador type. He'd probably be there to ease tensions more than to get much negotiating done. Pretty sure I can work Ceto in there as a former associate. Maybe during his visits he becomes better at negotiations and becomes an official imperial ambassador.

Alright so I took about 15 min to give yall a (exactly!) 500 word summary/bio. Hope I didn't accidentally muck anything up. Just an idea of what the character's background is.

Lucian Dexter is one of the galaxies most well-known holostars. At the young age of 29, he has starred in over 200 holodramas in the last 10 years, including the critically acclaimed The Emperor’s New Cloak and the smutty mash-up Darth Invade-her. He is 1.7 meters tall and about 78 kilos in weight. Some of his recent works include the mockumentary of the Galactic Civil War Skywalker’s Dilemma, starring as the late Lando Calrissian and his role as Encephalus in the horror/thriller Coruscant Down Under. His talent was discovered at the early age of seven when his parents, Lula and Ezekiel “Ziggs” Dexter, auditioned for a role in Republic Rangers. His performance was astounding for one so young, and while working on the show he met his childhood hero Ceto Rübezah. His parents signed him up for young roles in many holodramas, where his abilities were quickly recognized. At 17, he landed the lead role in the hit 2B or not 2B, a holodrama about a man’s decision to sell his droid in order to get money to continue his gambling addiction. Shortly after the release of 2B, Lucian won his first award for “Best Male Lead” in the Imperial Movie Day Bonanza, also known as the IMDB. Shortly after his performance in 2B, he won the role of Mace Windu in an Imperial-centered run of Republic Rangers. The show lasted for several seasons, and Lucian became a huge holostar for the Empire. It has never been officially confirmed, but it has been rumored that he met the Emperor Palpatine himself. During his role as an Imperial Moff in Real Moffs of the Empire, a reality TV show based around the daily lives of many Imperial Moffs, he became interested in politics. When the role of bodyguard Anthrax Arborius in the political/action thriller Death Star Down came up, he immediately jumped at the opportunity, getting runner-up in the IMDBs for his role. His roles changed dramatically after the destruction of the first Death Star. At the urging of a government official, he auditioned for many roles in propaganda holoshows and holodrama such as Stormtroopers and the well-known Rebel-Wreckers. After the disaster at Endor and the near-destruction of the second Death Star, he gave away much of his wealth to grieving families of the Imperials who had been killed in action. He soon returned to the holoscene in Barely Palpable, a Neo-Imperialist film that, while being censored by the government, has had over seven and a half trillion views. He returned to the holodrama genre with an outstanding performance in Soaring, a drama about a man paralyzed from the waist down learning to fly a starship. When the Imperials and the ARR entered a cold war, he served as a good-will ambassador to the ARR as a well-known holostar. During the course of his experiences at negotiations, he became more interested in politics, later pursuing the field. He continues, however, to act in some new and outstanding holodramas for the galaxy.

And also a short personality section:

Lucian has a very outgoing personality, which one would need as a holostar. He thinks he is God's gift to women, and is ignorant of the fact that most women "love" him for his celebrity status. Because all of his "relationships" have been purely for holofilms, he has no real sense of commitment. He is also rather ignorant of the hardships that many people face; however he has made a sizable donations to the families of those killed at Endor. He has a liberal political bias and would like to see the Empire and the ARR coexist as two separate and codependent states. He is very interested in politics and will take ever opportunity to learn more about it.

I can think of at least one Alliance Senator who would be delighted to make Lucian's acquaintance.

Sounds good. Most likely he's sent to the ARR as a good will ambassador, so that will involve him staying there for an extended period of time hangin out with ARR politicians and gettin the good times rollin. It should start with the Empire and the Alliance setting up the meeting and then Lucian being sent to the meeting to ease tensions. Hopefully this will result in less tension between the factions.
