View Full Version : NFL Pick Em 2013 - Week 9 (Thursday Game)

Snack posted something about the always forgetting the Thursday games, so I decided that I would start posting a week in advance, just in case people want to put in their Thursday. Since I usually didn't post the sched until Tuesday/Wednesday it wasn't giving some a lot of time, so this way everyone should have lots of time to get their picks in, in case RL rears it's ugly head.

Thanks for pointing that out. Thursday (not Monday #1) was supposed to be MIA not MIN.

Eesh, my picks are doing about as well as the Seahawks are this week. That's okay; I'll happily go 3-10 if the Steelers can somehow upset the Patriots!
EDIT: It looks like everybody's more or less in the same boat. Nathanial K'cansce and LD appear to be the only ones with more than 6 wins in the first 12 games, and since everybody picked Green Bay for Monday night, they're assured the top scores for the week. Some huge upsets this week, and also some very close calls! I really feel bad for fans of the Bills, Buccaneers, and Texans, who each had a heartbreaking loss to a heavily favored team.
Very scary what happened to Gary Kubiak (http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/9923828/gary-kubiak-houston-texans-taken-field-stretcher-half-indianapolis-colts). I really hope he's okay! :(
UPDATE: Gary Kubiak was diagnosed with a transient ischemic attack (http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap2000000276824/article/gary-kubiak-suffered-ministroke-during-texans-game), which causes stroke-like symptoms but resolves without long-term damage. I hope he's able to take it easy for a while, though I'm sure he'll be pushing to get back on the sideline. Good thing being head coach of an NFL team is a low-stress job. :uhoh

Mini strokes, TIAs are pretty serious and someone who's had one is very likely to have a full on stroke within like a year.

Hopefully good health for both coaches going forward. Listen to a few different sports radio shows, and it's been interesting to hear old coaches talking about the work hours that some coaches put in.
Anyway to the results, which I would make a joke about, but given the health issues this past week, I'm going to forgo that. Suffice it to say, it was a bad week for all of us.
