I steal a lot of ideas, but I also do a lot of crazy/weird ideas.
In the interests of checking to see if this is a symptom of psychological problems shits n giggles... fill out this poll and find out: are you as Jace as Jace is? :ohno
Confessional:
- I have multiple Jensen Ackles and Christopher Hemsworth characters
- I play the evil twins of most of my mutants, and at least two of my SW characters are clones
- An alarming number of my characters are called John
- I play Jace Harriman
- I play Glen Fiddich and Dean Winchester in pretty much every game/setting/thing ever
- I have two female characters (I think), but only because I registered a new one today
- I have lost count of how many random aliens I have; I also have five (I think?) droids, and two non mutants
- ...I don't think I really need to point that out. ^_^;
- I play all the relatives of all my characters. :uhoh
- I am really good at thinking up character names, but only if they begin with J. :|

- I use Jamie Bell as a likeness for two of my Star Wars characters (Abarai Loki and Kallum Romanoch)
- I had one inactive female character for Mutants Unite. Then, over the last couple of days, I created three more. This is unprecedented for me.
- I have four non-mutant characters.
- Five of my Mutants Unite characters have first names that begin with the letter J. I noticed this a few days ago and was pretty disappointed in my own lack of originality.
- Jacob Foley was basically Garrett Hedlund's character from Four Brothers to begin with, I even used his likeness.
- Alongside Jim I will soon be also roleplaying Joe Lewinski, his dad.

-I hit all but eleven letters of the alphabet with my character names, and the most characters I have starting with the same letter is three (for each of J, K, M, and S).
-I have over ten of each of male and female characters, but more male than female.
-I write (or at least have accounts for) two relatives of one of my characters, Lyanie - her dad and sister. Also, there is a pair of male twins (Vampire and Immortal) I have from WoD. I also write a brother and sister in MU (Gunnar and Sofie).
-Lyanie's face and character idea come from Firefly. But you knew that. And Fidavar's likeness and such come from The Boondock Saints. And Penelope.... Fringe.

- I seem to have the monopoly on Natalie Dormer and Karen Gillan. :uhoh There's others as well.
- I guess the MU "alternate universes" thing kills the "same setting" thing. I'd say SW did it first but I use one account for the Twins.
- Same first name - Saidra/Sadie in both Dark Banana/SW. I also have an Autumn from a post-apoc RP that never got off the ground and now an Autumn in MU. Apparently I have two Arianas as well...
- The Sadie thing kills me on the first name as myself thing. I'll never have a Sarah but Sadie is apparently a derivative so guilty as charged?
- I have multiple male characters.
- Relative thing I've never been safe on. Siblings/Cousins happened in SW far before I ever registered anyone in the Godfrey/Hodsson families for MU.
- I thought I'd be clear on the "More than10 of my characters' names start with the same letter" But then I started adding up all the "A' names...
Dasquian Belargic
Oct 20th, 2013, 02:06:33 AM
- I have more than one: Tom Hiddleston, Christian Bale, Matt Smith, Tatiana Maslany.
- ...and naturally I'm using Maslany for a set of triplets.
- I thought I was safe on the similar first names, since I get so obsessive about name creation, but I've got two characters called Jack :(
- I've got no character called Jenny though :D
- I don't think I have any character that I play in more than one setting? Correct me if I'm forgetting something!
- it goes without saying that I've got more than one male character.
- and a couple of oddities here and there..
- Maslany strikes again. I'm sure I've stolen ideas from TV and used the same actor in the past but I'm blanking on when.
- I think the Belargic twins were my first real foray into writing relatives here? But I've always had a few Van-Dervelds in my roster.
- there's multiple letters that this applies for.... I have a lot of accounts, alright?

Confessional:
- I have multiple Rachel Weisz characters, in Star Wars and Mutants.
- In Mutants, she is the mother of my main character.
- Roughly half of my characters are female.
- I do not currently play myself. But that might possibly change.
- My best (or most well received I suppose) character is based on Wash in Firefly.
- I have basically only one alien character, and she is one of the females I play. Technically there's two aliens, but Ruz'im never really got off the ground. Well technically three characters, but Ben's little togruta mechanic (roughly based off of Ahsoka Tano) doesn't have an account yet, and that's likely only because I haven't written much of Ben recently.
- I play all the relatives of all my characters. :uhoh -Jace ADDENDUM: While this is true for me also (to an extent, Kaman plays Ed's brother Fid), I have as yet only two real relatives running around on the boards that I play, Ben/Esther, and Julian/Madeleine.
- Three of my four mutants unite characters' names start with the letter J. That's a popular one here, ain't it? My Star Wars characters seem to be a bit more varied in terms of starting letters. I do seem to like having the same sound in subsequent syllables though: Palara, Rossos, Serasai, Ettagar, Veskasa, Sogan Dalgas, Istina.

-- Good gods, am I ever guilty of using the same image claim over and over – Monica Bellucci (Kass & Phedre), Chloe Hemmat (Vitra, Kahina, & Katia), Danneel Harris (Mara & Viktoriya), Elisha Cuthbert (Chrys & Dahlia), Bipasha Basu (Chrysothemis & Feessanni), Arianny Celeste (Firenne & Bianca)…ok, so maybe I need to branch out a little… >_>
-- Ha! Somehow, I’ve only managed to do this twice. Chrys & Chrysothemis who are both SW characters, and Lana & Syn who are alternate versions of eachother in MU.
-- Oy, guilty again…I’ve done it several times over, tweaking the characters to get them to fit the settings. Kass from SW and Phedre in MU, as well as Vitra in SW and Katia in MU.
-- I have 15 male characters on my roster, with the remaining overwhelming majority as women.
-- Oddly enough, I do have two actual aliens (Feessanni & Sekaj), no droids, and a heap of weird species hybrid characters. Those are my favorites.
-- *cough* I stole nothing…I…borrowed…yeah. <_< Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery?
-- Ooof, yes, I write most of my characters’ relatives – with 71 voices I’d be here all flipping day listing the complicated family connections >_<
-- Technically, I’ve used the letters A & S exactly ten times each so far. Next highest is K with 8, and then a smattering of letters at 4 or less. Also used 18 out of 26 letters in the alphabet.

Damn you Jace, I just scoured the ENTIRE memberlist because I couldn't remember some (most) of my characters. Though, it was a nice little trip down memory lane; seeing Sage Hazzard, Kanji, and a whole slew of old names was pretty awesome. That being said, I was happy to see some very old accounts of mine that I had completely forgotten about (but have a notion to bring back).
To my knowledge, I haven't used the same claim for different characters.
Same goes for different settings.
I actually have an old SW character whose name I recycled for Myth, changing only one letter in the last name.
I share my name with no character.
Pretty sure I don't play the same peep in a different setting, though I suppose loose comparisons could be made between a few; classic-s'Il/Andy McCall seems the most viable.
Oh goodness yes! In fact, in going through my list, it seems I've had more male accounts than female over the years.
Definitely yes.
Never done this that I can recall.
I am so guilty of this one it's not funny. Even before the reset I was playing pretty much all of my own relatives.
Oddly enough I went through and counted, and it seems my beginning letters are varied enough that the most I came up with was 8 for one letter.
In addition, I am terribad about making multiple accounts for the same character to use in different parts of their lives. s'Il is the most affected, and over the years she has collected 9 accounts for either one-off RP's or other odds and sods.

I have characters with my first name (or some variation thereof): Uhhh... does Andrea Kaine count? :uhoh
I have more than one character of the opposite gender: Taya Robbins, Jamie Morrigan, Andrea Kaine, Major Mackenzie Keller, Akasha Khan, Aris V'larr, Mdharra Ceergorra... I think that's it? Seven gals compared to thirteen guys, not counting NPCs who share accounts.
I have more than one "unusual" character: If Aris and Tannis don't count, I've still got Mdharra, Akasha and Zero (not a mutant - a cyborg! That's totally different!)
I have stolen a character from TV Metal Gear Solid (and used the same face): Kinda sorta with General Gideon Vasher, definitely with Zero.
I play a relative of one of my characters: Aris and Tannis V'larr, Alex and Andrea Kaine, both brother/sister pairs.

Ok lemme see:
I use the same image claim for two different characters: I make sure not to do this because it would kinda mess me up in visualizing them as distinct people.
I use the same image claim for two characters in the same setting: See above
I have characters with the same first name: Again, makes it difficult for me to separate them in my head so I take pains to avoid this.
I have characters with my first name (or some variation thereof): Not my first name, no. Anbira Hicchoru is a kind of mashup from the results I got from one of those "make your Jedi name" websites ages ago, but not derived from my first name, just other stuff. That's about the closest I get. Well I did have a Jedi throwaway character ages ago named Jackson DeWitt who used my middle name as his first, so consider this a qualified semi-yes.
I play the same character in different settings: I'm not sure what you mean on this. Literally the same? No. Is this a thing people actually do?
I have more than one character of the opposite gender: Most definitely.
I have more than one "unusual" (alien/droid/non-mutant/etc) character: Same.
I have stolen a character idea from TV (and used the same face): Again, not sure how literal this should be. Same character as in same name and background and all? No I haven't done that. Some of my characters definitely have strong influences tied to a particular character though, but I'm not sure if they'd be strong enough to be a direct cut and paste from the inspiration material. Cirrsseeto is certainly similar to Commander Shepard at times but Shep is kind of an everyman anyway. I guess Hurst Falco my Imperial army guy was pretty close to that since he's basically Vic Mackey anyway.
I play a relative of one of my other characters: Yes because I don't think anybody else would want to put up with that sort of shit.
More than10 of my characters' names start with the same letter: I make an effort to spread the alphabet out so that I use every letter of it. I'm almost there, heh.

I messed up when voting because I forgot that all my Cizerack characters are related (almost). Also I was staring at it for a long time trying to see if I had more aliens than Arya and Ecks, and then duh, Cizeracks.
I have have two characters with the same name and it is also my first name (part of it): Jane. No Holly's though.
I play a few dudes, but don't play the same character in different settings, unless you count James and Sansa as the same, but I think they're fairly different. I dunno about the letters of the alphabet thing but I'm guessing no. S might be close though. I DO have an image claim in WoD and SW that is the same, the guy from Underworld what the hell is his name?

I play the same character in different settings: I'm not sure what you mean on this. Literally the same? No. Is this a thing people actually do?
I suppose it depends how you look at it, how broad/vague you get, etc.
For me, writing the same / a similar character in a different setting is the same sort of thing as you doing a Fallout playthrough as Walter White, a Skyrim playthrough as Kurth, and so on. I enjoy the challenge of taking a character that I'm familiar with, putting them in a totally alien setting, and then imagining how they would react. I also like to imagine how having a different backstory and experiences would change that character. My best example of that on fans would be Solomon Latona, Solomon Godfrey, and Vittore Montegue: three "similar" characters all with the same image claim and inspired by the same character from Supernatural... but who are to me three astronomically different characters because of the experiences they've had.
Similarly, I have characters like John Glayde, Tom Harriman, Érinthe Hetetlen, and maybe Nikolai Odell who have a lot in common with me, but are better: they have attitudes I aspire to, don't have traits I dislike, didn't fuck up their life/career/education/etc. If they'd lived the same lives in the same universes, they'd probably be the same guy... but because people are the sum of their experiences, they end up being completely different, despite also being very much the same.
I enjoy making things difficult for myself... and forcing a situation where I have to really work to stop characters feeling "the same" is a fun challenge.

Totally forgot about Sam. Despite the overall direction I want to take her, I still have designs on her having a very Sweet-Dee essence. Not to mention she's a part of a group that a few of us decided to shamelessly rip after gorging ourselves on Sunny in Philly.
