No, I don't know if there is an R2-D2 Tardis but there totally should be, right?

Do you like cosplay? Are you making a costume? Talk about them there and post those progress pictures.

I am currently making the red dress from Resident Evil that Milla Jovovich wears. I made one already, technically, but it didn't turn out quite right. It's too short! I'm also determined to make a She-Hulk, Trinity from the Matrix, and a Princess Leia/Xena Warrior Princess that Christin is helping me visualize. :D

Now you just need a big gun prop to carry around :P

I've considered doing cosplays but I usually hit a point where I realize I either can't pull it off, can't built it, or it would be way to expensive, and so the dream dies. After Rose City Comic-Con this year I thought about trying to get something together for Portland Comic-Con. The only idea I've actually fleshed out in my mind would be a Mr. Zsasz (Zsasz Grimm) cosplay from Batman. Because I love psychopaths. Only thing holding me back is pulling off realistic tally mark scars all over my upper torso and head.

Let's see...

I've got a full American McGee's Alice costume that I'm always "improving". I've worn it to DragonCon and various other things (It's like Bones with Wonder Woman...it's my standby go-to thing)

I'll be working on two things for next year's San Diego Comic Con... Rosalind Lutece and (Fem)Kid Loki so I'll probably end up posting progress stuff on those as I go along. *nod*

As you mentioned the cut is a little high, but this dress reminds me of Vera Lang's dress from Fallout New Vegas: Dead Money. That's pretty cool :)

For my own stuff, I've pretty much just made a Legionary Decanus from Fallout New Vegas that I keep tweaking and updating for each Dragon*Con. I also made a pretty low budget Heisenberg cosplay this year too, which I'm now suddenly considering turning into Heisenzoidberg

Mash-ups are where it's at!

I need to figure out where to get leather relatively cheap and all the same color. I was considering Goodwill belts but I dunno. I'll need something for my bodice/breastplate too. I'm thinking the dark boiled leather look with metal accents like Xena.

Aside from a cobbled together just-in-case Fallout costume for RoadNerd, the main cosplay I'm planning out at the moment is Kilowog from Green Lantern.

Kilowog should be relatively easy to pull off: a shop-bought mask, some body armour, and a little needlework with some black and green fabric. The big difference between it being a good costume or a bad costume though is going to be a matter of body language, posture, voices, and that sort of stuff - acting the part, not just being it. Normally, the inconveniently sized and shaped dude wearing my cosplays is what lets the costume down; I kinda want to make something where I'm the component that makes it work for a change.

Just need to work out when I'll have the opportunity to wear it: there are a couple of conventions in London that are pretty accessible, but riding from my house to there on public transport dressed as the meanest poozer in the Corps could be, uh, "interesting". :uhoh

I have way too many ideas for cosplays and neither the time, the money nor the means to transport them to America for conventions :cry

So far the most fun I've had with cosplay was the Fallout group at D*Con - group cosplays are definitely where it's at!

I need to start work on putting together the Robert to Sarah's Rosalind Lutece and the Damian Wayne to her Kid Loki :uhoh

I've always got some sort of project going on.

1 - Have to fix up my ranger helmet since the antennae got lost.
2 - Predator; thinking of doing a mashup with this one and making a sugarskull yautja kit
3 - Various props in various states of completion (off the top of my head):
Predator Combi stick in planning stage
Elven great sword in first construction stage
Carved Nordic sword in first construction stage
Krosis ready to be given a coat of glue before a spackle and resin
Busted heat gun that has a coat of primer and is waiting to be painted up proper
A handful of septims that I need to make a little carrying bag for
4 - Planning to fix the rocket pack I made and upgrade it. Not gonna do a Rocketeer finish, but rather a shiny Buck Rogers/retro-future facelift.
5 - Lady legionnaire from Caesar's Legion in planning stage; have the cloth to start making the tunic so I may start that within the week.
6 - Bought another army helmet so I can make another ranger helmet.

That's all I can think of at the moment ^_^;

I'm wondering what I should wear on my feet - the ones I saw (there were at least two at RCCC) I didn't really notice their feet. The body paint is probably the most important part though. One of them was wearing a green body suit, and the other was sort of rubbing off. D:

Another one I'm considering (if the Great Spandex Experiment of the she-hulk costume works) is Spider-Woman:

Oh man, I say skip straight to Spider-Woman!! ^_^;

So, I ended up tearing apart and rebuilding my predator helmet. It has a full backing on it complete with ports to insert the dreads (which are going to be simple backer rods for the time being).

Gonna spackle it and smooth it tomorrow morning.

Ended up not spackling. Instead, I began work on the half-chest and back armor. So far it's just the base, but after tomorrow I should have it far enough along to post pictures :)

Thanks! Everything is not finished today, figuring out the lining for one vest took a really long time and a lt of brain cells, after which I took a two hour nap. :zzz

everything will be finished by Saturday or else!

Well just to bump this and perform from thread necromancy, I ordered spandex samples from spandex world finally. I was able to get Yaya Han's McCall's bodysuit pattern for $1.99 from Joann's labor day sale! Much more affordable than $21.95. I plan on making a suit out of cheaper material to get a feel for it before doing the main one.

Eventually. Maybe in two more years? LOL

I'm slowly working on a Fallout Assassin's Creed mashup - The Wasteland Assassin. I've got the drawer sliders and have one cut to fit, plus I drilled and cut out the hidden blade in the shape of a reciprocating sawblade. I'm still trying to figure out the best look for the clothing, though.

Apparently I need to do:

Jon Snow

and

Tybalt (as played by John Leguizamo)

But I want to do:

Lupin III

Something Firefly/Serenity based (maybe a browncoat costume!)

or

A Suggestion box for my next costume.

I'm going to wait until I actually play Fallout 4 before I decided which cosplay to do for the proposed Dragon*Con trip. Although honestly, I'm seriously wanting to make Ulysses' duster just for the hell of it >_<

Still really want to do a Dune cosplay though...fabric cost is prohibitive for the idea I had to replicate one of Irulan's dresses (and I don't mean from that wretched mini-series, thank you, I mean the original movie). A Bene Gesserit though...that would be slightly more affordable. *ponders*

Come to think of it...a Dune/Fallout mash-up could be fun!

Holy crap yes it would!

Though dammit now you've got me wanting to make a stillsuit (David Lynch version because there really is no other version in my eyes).

I plan on next year returning to Legion fitness and getting back into my Triarus Decanus kit.

On top of that I want to do a Jek Porkins in a tiny x-wing cosplay.

In a perfect world, I would also do a MEC-3 Paladin cosplay from XCOM but I have no idea how.

YESSSS! WE MUST DO THIS NOW! You do the stilsuit and I'll start looking into a Bene Gesserit! :crack

Jek would be GLORIOUS...as for the Paladin...looking at pictures, it would be a bitch to build. Possible, but wow, hard. And expensive...that sucker is huge! Still, it would look freaking amazing.
