Over the last few months, I've been sketching out my visualizations for my Cathar threads. Between work and sleep, I haven't had much time to really sit down and do the extended sketching that I want to. Nightshift is harder than some people think, and sleeping during the day really messes up your body. But the pay is good, so who am I to complain?

Scanner problems and USB issues have been a large obstacle to overcome, as sitting for twenty-plus minutes trying to get the scanner plug in the USB socket at just the right angle is enough to frustrate anyone.

After enough wrestling and cussing though, I was able to get it to work. I had planned to post this up yesterday, but DNS server issues squashed that plan, and by the time I got browsing capabilities back, it was time for me to head to work. I think I was about ready to scream last night.

But things are good now for the time being, so I'm posting up some of my concept work in the hopes that it will inspire others to make their own threads, sharing their own mind's eye view of their characters and the threads they are in.

And so, I'll start you all off with the page in my sketchbook that started this whole Egyptian craze:

Continuing on, we have the first sketch of a soldier in the marauding armies that plague Cathar:

A group of random concepts for General Mogadu's soldiers that are in Tales of the Lupines: The Lost Journals of Townsend Loveloxx: (http://www.sw-fans.net/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=37573)

And finally, the start of the final sketch for the overall look of a random soldier:

Here are some various pose sketches of deep desert Shu'Yon:

And Old Bron:

Here is the first drawing of Canon, who has yet to make his appearence in the Cathar threads; yet he is a key player:

Mr. Ahn'Khat, also who has yet to be introduced:

And a Pakka:

A few architectural studies of the ruins of Uruk'Lien:

Another Cathar thread that is currently on hiatus, Cathar: Morgenstern (http://www.sw-fans.net/forum/showthread.php?s=&threadid=37709), technically takes place before the Lost Journals thread, but it is also an important thread as it is when s'Il finds the map which will lead her to the Lost Palace of Beasts.

Here is a mock-up of how s'Il would be dressed for the trip from the Enrekhai Valley down to Joffa:

And Telan as well:

That about wraps it up for the Cathar work thus far.

In addition though, here are some links to a few Works in Progress that I'm slowly yet steadily finishing:

A KizzinCorps Claw Soldier (http://s93860457.onlinehome.us/netrenders/WIP/KizzinCorps-Claw-Soldier.jpg) - from my own stories. This was the frontline soldier against the Diggers in the Scion Wars.

Rasu'gha (http://s93860457.onlinehome.us/netrenders/WIP/Rasuhga.jpg) - Also from my own stories, Rasu'hga is a Ken'den Scry who is credited as being the one who hid the Left Gate Sword until it would be needed. His twin brother, Ra'ss'kha hid the Right Gate Sword.

The Bone Jacket (http://s93860457.onlinehome.us/netrenders/WIP/bone-jacket.jpg) - A random drawing from an old sketchbook that I scanned and finally started coloring.

The Jackal Mummy (http://s93860457.onlinehome.us/netrenders/WIP/jackal-mummy.jpg) - Another Egypt-inspired drawing.

And there you have it. I hope you enjoy what I've managed to scan, and I'll be sure to get more up when my USB port permits me to use the scanner.

ps - I was going to go buy a usb card today, but I decided to wait until payday instead; especially since the first of the month is like, two days away and bills are gonna be due >_<

I have to been drawing for you, buster. (http://s93860457.onlinehome.us/misc/hombre.jpg)

And thanks guys :) I'm glad you like them so far. My big weak spot is architecture and getting the angles how I like them, so I really want to tackle that stuff next. Maybe even do a few drawings of the Lost Palace of Beasts if I can.

Of course, I might just end up getting frustrated with the pencil and do it in 3D so I'll know the angles are right.
