Does anyone here know how to get a calendar on a phpBB board? I'd like to get one set up, and I found a mod for one on phpbb.com , but it seemed confusing and not exactly what I wanted. I need one that will show birthdays and special days, like the one here.
Anyone have any other ideas?

my favorite calendar thing is http://phpicalendar.net/
not exactly part of a portal, but I like it.
unfortunately it looks like their site is down for a bit.
Here's a working example:

I like the calendar - but the site *is* down. :(

What are your goals with a calendar & phpbb? I mean, what are you going to be using it for?
If you don't mind me asking.

Reminding people about birthdays. :) It's for my family, and we're all bad about remembering birthdays that don't live next door to us.

Found their stuff at sourcefordge.
http://sourceforge.net/projects/phpicalendar
Basicly,
- make all your changes and settings in the config file
- upload the whole thing to your webserver
then
- use a calendar program on your desktop that creates calendars in the ical format. then upload the calendar *.ics file to your web server and put it in the calendars folder.
For the calendar program, I use Sunbird from Mozilla (http://www.mozilla.org/projects/calendar/). It's a bit rough but I still like it.
What I like about this set up is I don't need a database backend, don't need to worry about dealing with a plug-in when upgrading things and a couple of other little tid-bits since I'm the only one who ever adds things to the calendar.

Thank you much Mu! I'll have to wait until I get home from work to see if I can get it going. :)
