Kathrine walked into the Bar and Grill and right past the gaurds. One grabbed her by the arm and pulled her back.

"Hey, we don't allow weapons in here and no one is exempt."

"Well then feel free to search me cause I'm not packing," she said irrateablely as she threw out her arms as if waiting for a pat down or something. The man just looked at her and decided there really wasn't a place to hide a weapon on her body and just jerked his head to the bar.

"Fine...go ahead in."

She walked over to the bar and sat down. The bartender came over and asked for her order.

"I'll take a Corellian rum."

"Got any ID?"

"Are you seriuos?" She asked incredously. He nodded and she sighed exaperately. This was the only bar she could find that would allow her in and now they wouldn't allow her to drink. "Figures this is what I get for having to come into a Jedi bar."

She looked up at the bartender and just threw her hands up. "Fine just get me whatever."

"The virgin strawberry daiquiri ain't bad," Kale suggested. "A little pricey, but then, so's the rum."

The seventeen-year-old human male was leaning over the bartop a couple stools down, cradling a tall, frosted mug of rootbeer between his long-fingered hands. He wasn't much to look at--angular features underneath a shock of coppery hair, a pair of narrow shoulders draped with an unassuming black trenchcoat.

He canted his head toward Kathrine and gave her a once-over. He'd long crossed off Yog's as a hot social spot for his demographic--he only came for the Jedi discount on the food. It was an unexpected pleasure to meet someone close to his own age there, especially someone so captivating.

Kathrine looked over at the man and snorted. Not much for the eyes.

She turned her eyes back to the drink, a tall, icy blue and yellow froth with green swirls in it, set in front of her and gave the bartender a curious glance. "And what is this supposed to be?"

"Ryloth shake. Supposed to be the new thing going around for kids your age."

For a moment she was tempted to throw him across the room with the Force, but thought better of it as she didn't want to leave here on an empty stomach just yet. She snatched it up and took a sip. It was tangy and good on it's own terms, but not what she was looking for. She looked back over to see the wirey-framed boy still there.

"Can I help you?" She asked sarcastically.

Kale

If Kale was fazed by Kathrine's attitude, he didn't show it.

"I was about to ask you the same thing," he said matter-of-factly. "You're in a frell of a mood. It don't take an empath to figure that out."

He sipped his root beer and turned in his seat so he was facing her, leaning with elbow propped on the bar.

"What brings you to a place like this?"

Kathrine
Mar 7th, 2005, 04:35:56 PM
She ignored his comment about her mood as she wasn't in the mood to talk about Southstar. "It's the only place on this forsaken plaent that would let me in, but they still won't let me order anything real to drink."

Kale
Mar 7th, 2005, 06:37:47 PM
He shrugged. "If it's a drink you're lookin' for, I could show you a couple places to get one if you're not too choosy. Of course, that ain't the only way to blow off a little steam. A little vandalism usually works for me."

Kathrine
Mar 7th, 2005, 08:25:00 PM
"Vandalism?" Kathrine asked. Her eyebrow raised at that thought. "Vandalizing what?"

Kale
Mar 8th, 2005, 11:00:49 AM
"I was always partial to throwin' chunks of sidewalk at fancy landspeeders," he replied. "Takes practice, but it's cheap, a snap to get away with, and you wouldn't believe how satisfying a big dent in the fender can be."

He took another sip of his rootbeer. "What's your name?"

Kathrine
Mar 8th, 2005, 11:29:04 AM
She smiled as she thought about the idea. She coudl hit a moving speeder, she knew without a doubt. "Hmm...sounds interesting..."

She snapped out of it when she realized he had asked her for her name. "Kathrine."

Kale
Mar 8th, 2005, 01:34:33 PM
One corner of his mouth turned upwards. He rarely gave a full smile, but there was something impish about his smirk--ironic, impudent, or conspiratorial, depending on the context.

"I'm Kale," he replied. "So, what do you do on Friday nights, Kathrine? I just got off work, an' I'm bored outa my skull."

Kathrine
Mar 8th, 2005, 03:04:10 PM
"Usually trying to relax after a week of training with Southstar, or if he is on one of his binges then I'll be in the woods of Corellia on a hiking trip with him."

Kale
Mar 8th, 2005, 05:13:10 PM
Kale lofted an eyebrow. "Corellia? That's..." the Sith stronghold. A world under a militant, fanatical oligarchy. At least, that's what he'd always heard.

"...a distance from here," he finished lamely. "What brings you to Coruscant?"

Kathrine
Mar 9th, 2005, 12:46:06 AM
"A fight with Southstar, and I thought this would be a nice change of scenery. I didn't realize that the laws were so strict here before hand though."

Kale
Mar 9th, 2005, 12:33:50 PM
Southstar again. Whoever it was, she said she'd been training with him... on Corellia... and that she'd had a fight with him.

Best not to jump to conclusions.

"Well, you're in the upper levels," Kale said. "This is the part they like to keep clean so they can put pictures of it on holonet and in travel brochures. Far cry from the Southern Underground... or even one of the mid-level districts like Coco or Santiago. If you're lookin' for it, you can probably find any vice you want on Coruscant. Assumin' you've got the money, and assumin' the vices you don't want don't find you first."

He reached for his root beer again and found it empty. Shrugging, he shoved to the back of the bar.

Kathrine
Mar 9th, 2005, 07:22:28 PM
Kathrine smiled. She had the money of course. Since Southstar had probably assumed her to be dead, he hadn't taken away her access to the Sith's Order's numerous accounts. She could have a lovely time here and still not put a dent in the account.

"Money isn't the issue, and I'm not really worried about anyone knowing what I want to or am doing. I'm a big girl and can take care of myself."

Kale
Mar 9th, 2005, 10:37:05 PM
Not an issue? Wow. That was... irregular.

And as far as Kale was concerned, it was a green light. He smirked again--conspiratorially.

"Well, we're not gonna find much action up here. Did you have anything in mind?"

Kathrine
Mar 9th, 2005, 10:49:15 PM
She thought for a moment. "I'm not really sure. What are my choices? It's got to be somewhere dangerous. I need the excitement."

Kale
Mar 10th, 2005, 12:05:50 PM
At that, Kale lofted an eyebrow.

"Dangerous? Well, there are degrees of danger... Let's say we rule out the downright suicidal, like junkworm-riding, or gangbusting..."

He fell silent--the barkeep had come to take his empty mug. Kale nodded respectfully and said, "I'll have my check, please."

The barkeep gave him a wary glance, then headed to his register.

The teenaged boy leaned back against the bar in thought. "There are plenty of places that'll provide your garden-variety danger... Anywhere in the Southern Underground. The clubs, the casinos, the shockboxing rings... There are places you can race swoops if you've got the entry money, and the balls."

He cleared his throat suddenly. "Er... I mean... the gumption."

Kathrine
Mar 10th, 2005, 09:49:46 PM
Kathrine smiled and looked the young man over again. This time she was more critizing and noticed there was more than he let on. "Clubs eh? What variety?"

Kale
Mar 11th, 2005, 04:46:34 PM
"Variety?" Kale repeated, laughing. "Sister, this is Coruscant. You wanna see mudwrestling matches between Bothans and Trandroshans, they've probably got it somewhere. Every place has its own flavor. Narrow it down for me--you want a dance club? Sports bar? Holo-arcade?"

A few other categories crossed his mind... but he didn't want to be that forward.

Kathrine
Mar 11th, 2005, 05:03:11 PM
"Hm...I'm more into the variety that the lower castes would frequent. Something that has a darker edge to it."

Kale
Mar 11th, 2005, 07:02:18 PM
Eh? Well, that was a surprise--but not hard to oblige. Kale used to be the lower caste.

"I know just the place," he replied. "Called the Red Dragon. No entry fee, cheap drinks, no frills, just enough brick and mortar to keep the music from bringin' the roof down. A hotspot for ilicit deals... if you're into that..."

Kale, personally, wasn't.

"You wanna go there, you'd better watch your back, your wallet, and your shirt, and anything else you don't feel like losin'. And trust me..." He grinned. "With the dancers they've got, that's a real trick."

Kathrine
Mar 11th, 2005, 07:10:27 PM
Kathrine smiled.

"Oh I have a feeling you won't have to worry about me. I've got...'friends'...in places that you couldn't possibly imagine."

Kale
Mar 11th, 2005, 07:41:24 PM
Kale wasn't sure how to take that--but considering the friends he'd been hanging around with, it made him chuckle.

"Oh, you never know. I like to think I've got a good imagination." The barkeep came back around, and Kale flipped him a credit chit. "Thanks, keep," Kale chirped back at him. "I'm done here. You ready, Kathrine?"

Kathrine
Mar 11th, 2005, 07:52:29 PM
She took one last sip of her drink and pushed the glass back. "Sure."

She spun on the barstool and stood to walk out. As she did, she tossed a credi chit back to the bar and used the Force to guide it next to her drink. Just enough to cover her drink without a tip. She walked over to the door and turned to see Kale following her. "Let's get this show on the road."
