Changing ISP, downtime

I'm cancelling my current ISP and switching to another one which is faster and cheaper, and internet downtime will ensue. I'll get disconnected from my current ISP next week some time from Monday to Wednesday, then my new ISP will take 7-14 business days to reconnect me.

New ISP: Cyberonic (Covad reseller), 3mbps down, 384kbps up, dynamic IP, $49.95/month

Minor change of plans - Covad disconnected me yesterday, so that only took 1 business day instead of 3-5 like they first suggested.

If Cyberonic adheres to the 7-14 business day schedule, I estimate I'll be back online sometime between February 28th and March 9th.

1 day before Cyberonic was going to begin to install my 3.0/384, I looked in a Comcast pamphlet and saw they were offering 6.0/768 cable for $67.95/month. I will never forget the happy feeling in my pants as I realized that I could get 6.0/768. I immediately cancelled my Cyberonic installation, and ordered Comcast. Install comes next wednesday.

(till then I'm on an AOL free trial with a $20 56k modem from compusa)

We just used a free AOL trial too, but we switched to bellsouth and I will soon begin shopping for a cheap backup provider.
