In this thread, I'll be torrenting all of the incredibly awesome comicbooks that you should be reading. Even if you don't like superhero books about Superman and Spider-Man teaming up to save the galaxy (especially if you don't like these books), I recommend you check out the stuff I'll be posting here.

Runaways

What would you do if you suddenly found out that your parents are Supervillians? Marvels acclaimed mini-series, Runaways, poses exactly that question. It's a very human take on superhero books as a group of teenagers struggles to come to terms with the enormous weight that was dumped into their collective laps. The artwork is really nice and it's a very solid read.

HOLY CRAP, this is a great series! It shows the potential of comics as a media when you have a really good story. Im about 1/3 through, and I cant stop reading it. I have to find out what happens next. Its very immersive and its like begging to be made into a movie or a TV series. I urge anyone reading this to check out this series, you will not regret it. Again, thanks a bunch Shawn!

Btw, the comics are in cbz format. For those not being familiar with it, its becoming the standard for comic scans, so you need a comic viewer to read them. I highly recommend CDisplay Sequential Image Viewer.

Just to slightly correct you, Runaways isn't as such a miniseries. It was selling badly, so it ended at #18 and is being relaunched with a season 2 in February. Both titles have the same writer as well :)

I liked Runaways very much (thanks to all who helped make my DLing a torrent possible!) and am starting in on Y. Just read the first book - very intriguing premise. ^_^

edit: Finished Y - so good! I think I'll have to start buying it to keep up with the story. :thumbup
