Everything is running smooth and fine. But darned if I didn't have a lot of programs and codecs lost in the transfer. I want to repopulate my PC with the newest and most fun stuff, so I figured I'd make a post to see what people are running these days.

Given my situation, I obviously have little to nothing to share that people don't have, so I can't really contribute. But I'd very much appreciate anyone who posts with program names or links to good stuff that I can use. And of course, people who contribute, contribute to everyone.

Anyways, this may seem like a cheap attempt to get some free advice. I can only assure you that it is, but if you're not keen on it, you don't have to post. :)

Thanks in advance to anyone who helps me out.

What he said, plus:

Firefox 1.0 PR (http://www.mozilla.org/products/firefox/) (obvious)
Thunderbird 0.8 (http://www.mozilla.org/products/thunderbird/) (good email client, and it's free)
Ad-Aware (http://www.lavasoft.de/support/download/) (for dealing with all that evil bad spyware)
ABC (http://pingpong-abc.sourceforge.net/) (easy-to-use BitTorrent client based on BitTornado)
Process Explorer (http://www.sysinternals.com/ntw2k/freeware/procexp.shtml) (tells you everything you can't get from the Windows Task Manager... recommended for advanced users only).

I'm sure I'll think of more eventually.
