Out of morbid curiousity, I ran an IP cross-reference on these two names, because I thought I recognized the general posting demeanor, and it appears I did indeed. IPs for these account match Ardath Bey/TCM'74, who was banned about a year ago for his conduct on the boards.

The Admins/mods might want to double check this and potentially take action.

Am I correct in assuming that simply banning him by name would do no good, because we can't block his IP permanently and directly?

I think that's the general problem, yeah.

I'm just doing my best to ignore him. I guess that will have to suffice for now.

HFunk/Zarell proved that he and Ardeth Bay were one in the same, so he's been banned.

Anyone think posting notice is a good idea? I'm neither for or against it, but I'd thought doing so was standard practice.

Probably not necessary since this is someone who was previously banned, just under different name.

Yoghurt got it right.

As a side not, he apparently posted on SWURP complaining about how he was "banned for no reason" here. Mind you, he all but said "I was banned before", and he hasn't contacted any of the staff asking why he was banned. So he knows darn well why he was banned (again).
