Just read this and then start followign some links, plus get the gist off Google News. This is huge - 190 odd arrests in Australia alone! And with more expected. I understand the totals in the USA could be in the thousands.

If it can be believed one person's PC had 2 million images alone.

Child care workers, teachers, a couple of police officers.... this is one hell of a scandal. It appears that the website that lead to a lot of these arrests was run by an East Europe criminal gang.

Thank God! These are the creeps that deserve capital punishment with rusted clippers and dousings in hydrochloryllic acid. Well, I hope this puts a serious damper on child porn and saves many victims in the process.

My initial reaction is one of pessimism. Yes, I'm glad the ring was broken up and so many arrests have been made. The people behind this investigation fight the good fight and should be commended. But I think if you got some of them off the record they'd tell you some horror stories. I always get the sense that this is a kind of evil we will always have to fight, it's not going away.

Yeah it will always be there especially when countries like Burma and others fuel the child sex slave industry. It is very sad and won't be going away for a while.

We can rejoice in the saved and avenged victims no matter how small (past, present, and future) with the breaking of this ring. We have that shared optimism and more if we consider the good won't stop rooting this ill cancer out of society.

I think any time a gung of greasy slease balls like that are busted, you have to rejoice. But as Jedieb said, you've gotta wonder how many more are out there.

Child care workers and teachers? That's got to be really horrible for the parents. Knowing the took their kids there.. even if nothing was actually done to their child.

There is a special hell for those who harm children. :mad I'm glad there were at least SOME of them caught, even if there are more.

Considering how many were caught in one swoop, it really makes you wonder just how many there are. That's truly depressing.

Edit : Saw soemthing that there are 95,000 leads to follow up around the world.

95,000?????? WTF????

Why the suprise? Seeing how pervasive pedophilia was in Roman culture, did you really think it was one of those things that would disappear when the visigoths attacked? I mean, there's always a down side to hedonism.

LOL I think he means it is as old as western civilization, that is what I got. It isn't going away esepcially when in some countries like Burma it is legal and there the dictatorship their make money off of it.

Many more arrests, two police in the Child Protection unit(!) and teachers included, 6 suicides from those caught.
