Inu draws his rusted metal blade and steps back into a low stance, feet parallel, right in front of the left, torso bolt upright. His katana won't resist the saber unless it transforms, and he's not angry enough for it to happen yet.

Inu sidesteps, allowing his anger to build before he attacks.
"You'll see why momentarily!" he snaps.
The pattern of rust on the sword shifts; its not actually, rust, its nanomachines, attuned by the Jackel's creator to Inu's body. When he is angry enough, they will trigger a tremenous change in the sword's capabilities, but for now, it is only a katana.

The Knight gave a slight shrug of his shoulders and brought his saber up into a two handed grip. The tip wavering towards his own body for a moment, he motioned for Inu to attack.

That does the trick. Inu's blade flashes and expands, doubling its length and width, hardening itself against the saber's effect. Fueled with anger and the dark side, the Jackel lunges with a stab.

Barely put off by the unusual transformation, Salem swings his saber down to meet the inward lunge and repels the blade easily, pushing forward. Twisting his sabers hilt to push both beams off to the side, he sharply drags the tip of the weapon back to the side, mimicking the attack Inu had first performed – with the added touch of a small force push to the Apprentice’s lower body, to knock him slightly off balance.

The Force push does its trick, but Inu won't be so easily attacked. The Jackel twists with the push, the saber coring his shirt as it flows behind his movment. When he stands back and regains his balance, his clothing has acquired two neat holes on either side of his torso. He moves forward with a rapid shuffling of feet and strikes at Salem's forehead, snapping the katana down in a quick, controlled motion.

With his hunch, Salem’s body became partially lowered. Where normally he would be 6’7”, he was lowered to 6’3”. Due to this, as the katana swiped at his head, all he did to defend was straighten up his posture. The blade was then set on a course with his breast-bone, and by leaping back a small distance he evaded the brunt of the strike – though his cloak was faintly singed. In response he attacked at Inu’s weak point, his unguarded upper torso. He hooked his saber in for a horizontal cleave at shoulder level, aiming to cleanly lop off his head.

The enchanted katana and Salem’s saber met again, though the Knight drew away from the bind quickly and swung out backwards, taking a small leap to put him out of harms reach. He didn’t remain here for long, as within a second he had hacked in twice at Inu, and was continuing a barrage of quick left and right swings.
