The 28th is the 1 Year Anniversary of the Patriots last loss!

As a longtime Pats fan it still amazes me how good they're doing, going into each game they have a very legit chance to win, if they play as well as they can I can see them starting with a gaudy # of wins, something like 8-10 and 0. The key is will they avoid mistakes and will their luck hold. Should be fun to find out!

What's with everyone picking the Jags against the Titans? Titans will score several TDs with their PASSING game and the Jags will lose because Byron Leftwich had one good throw this season.

Maybe because Jags keeps surprising. So why not :)

Guess we will soon find out how it ends up. Games starting in not too long now.

Man... the Chiefs are in trouble... 0-2 they could climb out of, but 0-3? And after losing the Houston? That has to all but kill the morale of the team.

Nice win for Jacksonville. I was tempted to pick them, as they always seem to play Tennessee tough. But, alas, I was too much of a chicken.

Green Bay/Indy has started out as barnburner. I picked the Packers out of sheer blind loyalty... I'm not expecting them to hang in with the Colts for the entire game.

Yeah... it helps that the Colts didn't run the ball a single time in the 1st quarter, and that the Packers insisted on playing single coverage with a depleted secondary against the Colt's receivers.

I'm really starting to dislike this crazy blitz-happy defense that Green Bay is using. It only works if you have a great secondary... something that the Packers certainly don't.

The Jags won yet another close game. That defense is for real. They're going to be tough to pick. The friggin' Rams are killing me. Martz is one of the worst head coaches in the league. Brilliant offensive cooridinator, but he has no business being a head coach in the NFL.

I said I didn't like the defense they were using. That's not to imply anything about the team in general.

A few more big upsets, stupid Chiefs! Oh well, at least just about everyone picked them so no big deal there.

Jags....wow, can't believe they keep winning, huge win over the Titans!

How about Roy Williams for the Lions? That guy is gonna be a stud!

Manning/Favre....wow, both guys are on fire, incredible.

Stupid RAMS! Agreed on Martz, the guy should not be a head coach, he cost the team the playoffs last year and has stupid call after stupid call and now is 1-2 when they could easily be 3-0.

49ers may get shut out, first time in a loooong time!

What can I say about the Chiefs. I am about ready to give up on them and just root for the Patriots :p They are my second favorite team. The way things are going for them if they sink too bad, I hate to say it but If I was Lamar Hunt I fire Vermeil and Petersen and just rebuild. Maybe that is just me being pessimistic :/

Sep 26th, 2004, 08:38:11 PM
Welcome JMC, glad you finally found the light :)

Vermeil was probably done after this year anyways, might as well play it out and go for the high draft pick :)

Raiders are whooping on the Bucs.....hard to believe how hard the Bucs have fallen, 2 years ago these two teams were in the Superbowl.....sad.

Jedi Master Carr
Sep 26th, 2004, 08:39:46 PM
LOL well I still like the Chiefs but there is no point if they aren't going to make the playoffs. Got to root for somebody :)

Jedieb
Sep 26th, 2004, 08:57:23 PM
My poor hapless Bucs. I think they're going back to the orange creamsicles uniforms next week. They've been devasted by injuries on offense, and losing Lynch and Sapp make them unrecognizable on defense at times. :cry

The Dolphins are putting up a fight tonight. They just hit a FG and they could still pull this one out.

I think the Chiefs are done for the year. They just don't have the WR's they need and that defense is just as weak as it was last year. Sorry Carr, neither one of us is getting to the playoffs. :(

Jedi Master Carr
Sep 26th, 2004, 09:20:07 PM
The WR are too banged up too which is what is killing them, Two WR out for the year and the other two are banged up that is what is killing them. If they had an offense they would make the playoff without a problem.

Cyrel Annat
Sep 26th, 2004, 09:38:42 PM
The Jaguars should continue to be tough throughout the year since they are able to force the opposition to play their game. Ugly, low-scoring, but as they say, a win is a win and they have three right now. It's not gonna be pretty, but that run defense is tough and it puts much more pressure on the opposing quarterback to beat them. Next week will be the big test for Jacksonville as I believe they play Indianapolis.

Kansas City will not see much improvement until the WRs return and get healthy. Although I am a bit surprised that they lost this game, I almost picked Houston since they do have the explosive potential on the offensive side of the ball.

And simply, Martz needs to go back to offensive coordinator. He's good at offense, he's not good at other facets of the game.

Woot! Today was a great day ...

My Raiders won, the Vikings won, the Chiefs lost and so did the Niners. Great day ...

I wanted to watch the Packer and Colts game though, but we didn't get it until the last quarter, which sucked cause it looked like a great game.

Has anyone seem as lame an offense as what the Dolphins put up last night? Feely's numbers at the half? 25 yards in the air on 8 completions and 2 INT's. Great stuff. I know, I know the weather blah blah blah...that's another disgusting performance.

Jedieb
Sep 27th, 2004, 02:31:14 PM
That's two Sunday nights I've been forced by the football gods to watch the Dolphins offense. It's embarrassing. To add insult to injury, the defense looks better than last year's IMO. That defense is going to torture Fin fans by keeping the Dolphins in games right up to the 4th quarter. Then, out of pure exhaustion, they'll fall apart and give 4th quarter points or Feely will throw yet another TD pass for the opposing team. NFL Florida football is going to be ugly this year. Yes, the Jags will probably finish above .500 and make the playoffs, but it's going to be hideous to watch. As for my Bucs, they're looking at 4-6 wins, tops. :cry

Stupid Cowboys!

Can't believe that Interference call that led to the Cowboys first TD, they gotta rein those calls in and call them both ways or its gonna be even more of a joke.

And why can't a coach challenge a penalty? Its no more a judgement call in some cases then challenging the spot of the ball but they can do that.
