The Black Waltz

Two luminous yellow eyes blinked awake. The Waltz shifted its vision back and forth, back and forth, and rolled over from its stomach to its feet. What it saw was familiar- the interior of the ship used by the blue-man and his lady-friend to leave Koros Major. The little creature didn’t quite recall how it had come to be on the vessel, but knew that it was best that neither Naj nor Daria caught it in the cargo bay. Returning its enormous floppy hat to its head, the Waltz waddled towards the ships exit. It had work to do and it was important that it was not late-
blinkblink- the Waltz frowned. It looked left, and then it looked right. It was in a wooded area, that much was certain, but not one it recognized. It could not hear the voices of the Baffor trees, and this made panic jolt up its spine (or whatever it had in place of a spine). The little keeper of the forests had a sneaking suspicion that it was no longer in the Empress Teta system.
