Berevel II - Former Mining Colony
The Imperial Sovereignty - Border Regions
One hour after local sunset
Demon-Kieran stood on a ledge overlooking the small capital of Berevel II, a pair of macrobinoculars raised to his eyes. He was looking out at the ex-miners in the town below him. This world was of no relative importance to the Sovereignty, but rebellion was not acceptable, even from a world like this. To make things even more interesting, the New Republic had sent advisors to this out-of-the-way planet, to assist in their rebellion. So here he was, three companies of a hundred men each at his disposal, and he waited...
He turned to his company commanders, his voice low. "All three of you, find your fastest man, put them together and send them to scout ahead. I want to know exact strengths. What do they have, what form of help are they getting. Move fast!"
About twenty minutes later, the three men returned. "They have the latest weapons, Major," one of them reported. "There are about five or six hundred of them, and sure enough there are Republic officers serving as advisors."
"Do they have any form of air coverage or heavy weaponry?"
"No, sir. Just the latest infantry weapons."
"Hmm....this may work to our advantage." He summoned his company commanders again. "We have airborne troopers....send them in. Move infantry with them, but stay low. When the airbornes attack, move in. Understood?"
"Yessir!" was the reply.
"Move out." Demon-Kieran gestured for his men to move, and move they did - as silent and as deadly as wraiths....
