Shade sat aboard one of the Greater Jedi Order’s ships as they orbited the planet of Ithor. He had with him Jame Kaman Dar and Sarr Koon, two of his Padawans. He had heard from a very reliable source that something big would be happening and that a few Jedi might be needed. He looked out of the view port as they came around to face the planet. It was a truly wonderful thing to see, the planet’s rainforests remained virtually untouched. To live the Ithorians have constructed giant floating cities, also called herd ships, which hover above the Bafforr treetops in no particular pattern. Every five years the Ithorians gather at their planet for the Meet, where the most important decisions regarding Ithorian Society are made. During this time the Herd ships link up through an intricate and graceful network of bridges and antigravity platforms.

And this is what the three Jedi saw as they came around. The Herd ships were magnificent pieces of art themselves, and the way the connected only made them more splendid. The Jedi Knight however, sighed at the sight of the planet. He would have given anything to go running through those jungles, but Ithorian law forbid it, and he would not go against any law, no matter how great the temptation.

He turned to the two young Jedi before walking past them to take a seat. “Feel privileged Padawans. Even though you are to be Jedi and will see many things, very few are able to witness a Meet, even though it is so common. The Ithorians try to keep it as private as they can. We’ve been granted by an old friend of mine in hopes of solving a matter of dispute and hopefully uncovering something else.”

He picked up a glass of water from a nearby table and took a small sip. As he did, he looked at each of them respectively. “Tell me, how do you feel about this?”

The two Jedi Padawans were seated across from the Jedi Knight. Sarr wore the traditional Jedi clothing with a cloak draped over his medium sized frame.

"I am ready to be of whatever service I can, Master Shade. I would like to know, however, what the dispute is that we will be trying to solve."

Jame folded one arm across her midsection, and propped the elbow of her other arm on that palm, and played with the lobe of her ear. Her ear itched today...one of those odd itches that came and went with no apparent cause.

"I think this is an excellent opportunity. Though I have already seen many things so far, this is definetly a great privlege. I'm also, like Sarr, wondering what the central conflict in this would be..."

"To be honest, it isn't that clear yet. There seems to be a dispute about security measures that is being instigated by an outside force. Some think that the new ideas are ridiculous and should take place, but there are those that want them to happen. They think that the Ithorians as a race have been falling behind in the galaxy and need to be brought up to speed."

The Kel Dor nodded his head.

"I look forward to assisting the Ithorians in whatever way I can."

"So you say, but what if the way you help them isn't the right way? Which would you two choose? Preserving a way of life and moving forward at your own pace, or jumping right into the middle of things?"

Sarr Koon

"You guide my hand, Master Shade. I will do what you see to be wise."

Shade nodded to Sarr and turned his head to Jame. "And what about you?"

Jame Kaman Dar

Jame smiled.

"I will use your direction, as I would think is a decent option, but also I have my own life experiences which will influence my thinking, I'm sure. In my opinion, the Ithorians should be allowed to move at their own pace. No one likes to have their hand forced. It can be damaging."

Shade smiled at Jame. "Good. You will need to rely on your own experiences because I will not always be there."

Shade stood up and walked over to the viewport to take one last look. "But Sarr don't think your choice is wrong. Both of you are still young and neither of you have been through the same experiences."

"Now as for what Jame said about no one liking their hands being forced take heed to it because that is exactly what we will be doing to the people instigating this turn of events. Some of them might even panic, so I want you to be on your toes at all times."

He turned back to the two Padawans and motioned for them to follow. "Come now, our escort should be arriving shortly and there is no need to keep them waiting."
