Shade sat aboard one of the Greater Jedi Order’s ships as they orbited the planet of Ithor. He had with him Jame Kaman Dar and Sarr Koon, two of his Padawans. He had heard from a very reliable source that something big would be happening and that a few Jedi might be needed. He looked out of the view port as they came around to face the planet. It was a truly wonderful thing to see, the planet’s rainforests remained virtually untouched. To live the Ithorians have constructed giant floating cities, also called herd ships, which hover above the Bafforr treetops in no particular pattern. Every five years the Ithorians gather at their planet for the Meet, where the most important decisions regarding Ithorian Society are made. During this time the Herd ships link up through an intricate and graceful network of bridges and antigravity platforms.
And this is what the three Jedi saw as they came around. The Herd ships were magnificent pieces of art themselves, and the way the connected only made them more splendid. The Jedi Knight however, sighed at the sight of the planet. He would have given anything to go running through those jungles, but Ithorian law forbid it, and he would not go against any law, no matter how great the temptation.
He turned to the two young Jedi before walking past them to take a seat. “Feel privileged Padawans. Even though you are to be Jedi and will see many things, very few are able to witness a Meet, even though it is so common. The Ithorians try to keep it as private as they can. We’ve been granted by an old friend of mine in hopes of solving a matter of dispute and hopefully uncovering something else.”
He picked up a glass of water from a nearby table and took a small sip. As he did, he looked at each of them respectively. “Tell me, how do you feel about this?”
