...is where I will be this weekend (Lexington, specifically). Circumstances being what they are, I shall have to learn to live for a few days, starting Thursday and ending Monday, without my daily Forums fix (*withdrawal!*), and, in fact, without any internet at all. While this only really affects Kale (who already knows) and Rikki *waves to Rikki*, I thought I'd go ahead and tell y'all, while I still could, to have a lovely weekend. Try to stay out of trouble while I'm gone.

Slainte!

Hey, y'all! I'm back...and now that the vacation's over, I need a rest...

Knob Creek? Never heard of it, wuzzat? Picked up some Ale 81 and Jim Beam, though, for anybody who's interested...*waves soda and whiskey in the Forums' direction*

A better bourbon, also made by Jim Beam's distilleries. 100 proof Kentucky gold. First shot will dislocate your jaw. Everything past that is all good.

That said, you can't go wrong with Jim.

:lol Well, I'll take your word on that, since I've yet to actually try whiskey (it's on the list of things-to-do-before-I-die).

Here, for your time, you can have one of my bottles of Jim Beam, gratis.

Well, I have loved some women
And I have loved Jim Beam.
And they both tried to kill me
In 1973...

Aack...Hank's taking over my brain.

Oh, not you too!

Living here has its severe downsides--the inescapability of country music being the most glaring and maddening of them.

Though, the more I hear that particular song, the more even I like it. :)

Play the music backwards. Your dog comes back to life and your wife comes back.

Your truck is like new again and your mom gets out of jail, plus you'll have a full fridge of beer!!

Or not.

Well I was drunk the day my mama got out of prison
And I went to pick her up in the rain
But before I could get to the station in my pickup truck
She got runned over by a damned ol' train.

Wait a minute--Marcus, you're an Aussie. You don't seriously like country music, do you?

There’s a tear in my beer
Cause I’m cryin’ for you, dear
You are on my lonely mind.
Into these last nine beers
I have shed a million tears.
You are on my lonely mind
I’m gonna keep on sittin’ here
Until I’m petriified.
And then maybe these tears
Will leave my eyes.
There’s a tear in my beer
Cause I’m crying’ for you, dear
You are on my lonely mind.

Last night I walked the floor
And the night before
You are on my lonely mind.
It seems my life is through
And I’m so doggone blue
You are on my lonely mind.
I’m gonna keep on sittin’ here
Till I can’t move a toe
And then maybe my heart
Won’t hurt me so.
There’s a tear in my beer
Cause I’m cryin’ for you, dear.
You are on my lonely mind.

Lord, I’ve tried and I’ve tried
But my tears I can’t hide
You are on my lonely mind.
All these blues that I’ve found
Have really got me down
You are on my lonely mind
I’m gonna keep on drinkin’ till I can’t even think
Cause in the last week I ain’t slept a wink
There’s a tear in my beer
Cause I’m crying for you dear
You are on my lonely mind.

If it was cool to be a fool,
I'd be the hippest guy around.
If heartbreak made you famous,
I'd be known from town to town.
If tears were made of pennies,
And a cold beer brought her back,
My bank account and self-esteem
Would both be in the black.

If some Hollywood producer
Made a movie that was sad,
About some guy who lost
The best thing he ever had,
Hey! I could be a star...
If it was cool to be a fool.

Whew, good, for a second, I was a bit worried about you.

Oh, we can't forget this classic:

Here's to the past, they can kiss my glass!
I hope she's happy with him.
Here's to the girl who wrecked my world,
That angel that took me in.

I think the devil drives a Coup DeVille.
I watched 'em drive away over the hill,
Not against her will. I've got time to kill
Down in Brokenheartsville.

*bangs head against wall* Get me outta the South, please...

I am the very model of the modern major general,
I've information vegetable, animal, and mineral,
I know the kings of England and I quote the fights historical
From Marathon to Waterloo in order categorical.
I'm very well acquainted, too, in matters mathematical.
I understand equations, both the simple and quadratical!
About binomial theorum I am teeming with a lot of news,
With many cheerful facts about the square of the hypotenuse!

I'm very good at integral and differential calculus,
I know the scientific names of beings animalculus,
In short, in matters vegetable, animal, and mineral,
I am the very model of a modern major general.

There ya go, top of the charts in Victorian England. Better?

Much. Much.

*reads through again in an attempt to actually understand it*

It's much too late...this song is making sense...

But thank you, a million times, for the reprieve from country music. Care for an Ale 81 (since I don't think you'd much care for a Jim Beam)?
